We each have our own special memory of the moment we fell in love with Walt Disney and began to believe in magic and dreams.
Perhaps you remember the original Disneyland television series. Maybe you were converted by one of the classic Disney movies or are part of the "Disney Channel" generation. Or you may be a parent or grandparent who loves Disney simply because your little ones love Disney. In any case, you trust the power of dreams.
Walt's dreams knew virtually no boundaries, but he felt hemmed in by the surroundings of his first theme park, Disneyland in California. So he created a new place where there was enough room many more dreams -- 47 square miles of mostly undeveloped land in Central Florida. In 1971, his dream came true as Walt Disney World® opened with fanfare befitting the coronation of a king.
Within a decade, Disney World reigned supreme in the travel industry. In the 30-plus years since its opening, vacationing at Walt Disney World has become an American tradition. Even international travelers rank Disney World as one of the top vacation destinations.
As Disney World grew, so did the size of the typical Disney World travel guide. Those guides work for travelers who want or need detailed information. But over the years, I encountered many families -- including my own! -- who wished for a simplified, illustrated book that was more like SparkNotes® and less like an encyclopedia. So I set out to fulfill my own dream: a fun-to-read, easy-to-use travel guide filled with maps and checklists, a guidebook that even travelers who hate to plan could love!
The result is the book you are reading. The EZ Fun Guide(tm) to Walt Disney World® was written and designed using proven information-sharing techniques based on the power of illustrations and structured writing. Color-coded, descriptive EZ Fun Maps(tm) describe the major theme parks, water parks and other selected locations. Information that is not appropriate for maps is presented in checklists and tables, so you can easily find the information that you need.
The final chapter is the EZ Fun Vacation Planner, a series of planning pages called EZ Fun Sheets(tm). Using what you have learned in earlier chapters, you and your family can easily plan your theme parks visits and other recreation, select your resort hotel, plan your meals and budget for your vacation. Unlike other travel guides, this won't be a generic plan. Your vacation plan will be customized just for you!
You're planning (or at least thinking about) a trip to Disney World, right? But you're having trouble finding a travel book that doesn't overwhelm you with details. You'd love to find a resource that gives us the essential facts in a format that's easy and fun to read, right?
I agree. My family loves Disney World but hates to read an encyclopedia to plan our Disney vacation fun. That's what most travel guides (and many web sites) feel like to us. So I wrote a travel guide for travelers like us. Rather than pages of text, youll find maps, charts, table and checklists to plan your vacation.
Here's another benefit of the EZ Fun Guide to Walt Disney World: Other travel guides labeled "2006" were produced last summer and may have outdated information. Because of the production method that is used for the EZ Fun Guide, it is updated throughout the year so it probably the most accurate 2006 Disney guide you can find. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I wish I'd bought this book before my trip to Orlando earlier this year! I would have had a much better idea of how to navigate all there is to see and do, and what activities would best fit my preferences. Oh well, I have it now, and plan to use it extensively for my next Disney trip. It's so incredibly useful and easy to engage with. A must for planning any Disney vacation.

If you or anyone you know is planning a vacation to Disney World you will want to own a copy of this book! It will help in planning all aspects of your visit to Disney --- including lots and lots of tips you can only get from someone whose been there and done it multiple times. It will help decide where to stay and what tickets to buy. It will tell you everything there is to do while you are there, how to get to places (with easy to read maps and descriptions all in one place), how to budget... It's simply a wealth of information and a really fun way of planning a stress-free vacation to Disney --- which could otherwise be quite overwhelming. I highly recommend it for anyone's Disney vacation planning!

A good guidebook,
This review is from: EZ Fun Guide to Walt Disney World 2007: Year of a Million Dreams Special Edition (Spiral-bound)
This guidebook for Walt Disney World isn't the most informative (that would be the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World by Bob Sehlinger) nor the most beautiful (that would be the deluxe version of the Passporter Guide to Walt Disney World by Jennifer Marx), but it is still a good book to buy if you want the basics in an easy-to-understand presentation or if you have the other two books and simply want a third perspective from a thoughtful author.
As someone who has never been to Walt Disney World, I bought a copy of every guidebook I could find. I'm eternally grateful to Bob Sehlinger for his great book with its volumes of very useful information. And I deeply appreciate the thoughtful touches and extra tidbits tucked into the Passporter volume. But this book offered an interesting take on the park maps - they're very informative and, for someone who hadn't yet been to Disney World, they made it much easier to understand and visualize the parks, their layout, and where every single attraction, restaurant, and gift shop was within that layout. The tips included are also nice, as are the planning documents and the information on things to do at Disney World aside from going to the various theme and water parks. I think this book is definitely worth the price.
