Overall, this is a very nice bookcase, that will last for many many years. I bought this bookcase because our local toy store uses them in their book corner, so I pretty much knew what I was getting. There is tons of room for all of his books and also serves as a nice toy display, it looks quite handsome, and is sturdy. The reason that it gets only four starts is that the castors are a little puny, making it difficult to slide across the floor, but at least it doesn't scratch. It also had a bit of a chemical-like odor straight out of the box. It wasn't that strong (definitely nowhere near as bad as most flat-pack furniture) and dissipated quickly, it didn't really bother me and I'm usually sensitive to those kinds of odors. Also, the bookshelves aren't tall enough for oversized books (like the How Does a Dinosaur... series), so you either have to stack them flat or display them on the side. Also, the side displays are nice, but a little wobbly. I am very pleased with this purchase, and would definitely buy Guidecraft again.
