About the Author

Rudy Kagerer was born and grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and spent his youth fishing, boating and swimming in Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He is currently semi-retired from the faculty of the University of Georgia, teaching correspondence courses. He and his wife of 42+ years, Doris, teach lighthouse lore to Elderhostel and other senior groups, as well as to school children. They live in Athens, Georgia.

They have two grown sons and three grandchildren.

I have an earlier version of this little book, and am glad to see it on the market again. My husband and I, on our quest to photograph every lighthouse in the U.S., found it very helpful.
