The color is not 'espresso' it's more of a cherry color, which I don't care for.
The surfaces were not very nice (scratches, missing stain in some spots, etc...)
The stability not great as one leg seems to be shorter then the others and causes it to wobble.
The parts didn't fit together very well, either.
Overall, not a great item but too much hassle to take apart and return...

This was a gift for my 4.5 year old daughter and she loves it. Her favorite dolls, the 12" size, actually fit well in it but it holds larger dolls without a problem as well (she simply does not play with those). It is sturdy and not too difficult to assemble. It took about twenty minutes, tops, with simple tools. The finish is durable; no scratches yet!
I would recommend this high chair over any plastic toy high chair on the market. We have had two plastic doll high chairs in the past and they were difficult to use, fell apart and were just cheap. This should last and actually looks good in the home. It matches my daughter's rocking chair nicely and we plan to get the cradle next.
