Let me begin by saying that this is NOT a toy that you will put on the floor and your child will be engaged for any length of time. This is an absolute parent & me play. Your older children will soon join in too.The child for whom this toy was purchased is 4.3 to be precise. He can build simple structures and there are plenty of pieces to encourage the imagination expansion. The pictures show robots and other more complicated designs which of course all children want so parents, get ready to build these. These are more complicated and take some time & patience on your part however, your child will remain entertained with the many other pieces (usually the ones you need). The finished product is great and only sturdy enough to stay where built. Your child will NOT be able to pick up and play with the robot. Trying to move the finished masterpiece will result in pieces falling off so remember to tell your child that the point of putting this together is to take it apart as soon as it is completed otherwise there will be huge disappointments. Great toy for interacting with children. Great toy with which to play together while watching a favorite show with your child...(we dislike the stop and stare at the television business and encourage play or coloring while watching. Lots of pieces for mom and dad to track so purchase a plastic covered bin so they all stay together. Our toy was brought by Santa so it has lived in our home for almost 2 months. It has received ample play time as we keep the box close by our television the children most watch. When Luca and I settle down to watch our favorite WonderPets, House of Mouse, or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse he will often ask..."Mommy want to play mangets?" A winner in our home! Rosemary

The magnets are not strong enough to hold together well. The linking plastic parts are confusing. The toy requires an adult attending and assisting or a child who is determined. Stronger magnets would make it a lot more fun. My three year old said, it is alright. The 5 year old didn't stick with it long enough to create anything he wanted to show me. I attempted the robot that is on the ad and front of the box. As long as it stayed flat on the floor it was together but that wasn't very satisfying and not any fun to play with as a created toy. If I was to try any new type toy again I would start with the smallest set and buy more if the kids really used it.
