5.0 out of 5 stars Best so far, April 13, 2009
I find this recording very useful and efficient, helped me to realize how important is to honor and respect food, to be present while eating, enjoying food and enjoying taking care of myself. This is a jewel, thanks for making this beautiful work.I really enjoy it.

Helps me to relax, which I really have trouble with. Muscles are always tense. Now I can go into a meditative state at will in a safe environment. Almost as good as a massage.
Still working on the weight loss. Will have to listen to it more frequently.

This review is from: Guided Meditation Using Self Hypnosis Techniques and Yoga Nidra Relaxation for Weight Loss (MP3 Download)
Consider the review which appears 'off topic' might also be useful. Although it does not address the targeted issue (this being weight loss), knowing that one who experiences difficulty relaxing is able to do so by listening to, without having focused on, the specific information or instructions being given adds value to the product and informs me that it is effective on a purely subliminal level: anxiety is often a component of weight issues and herein is apparently addressed.

People need not purchase a second product targeting anxiety reduction or relaxation unless they feel so inclined ~ Mi dos centavos: I do believe issues of anxiety specific to coping within a chaotic world and those arising from trauma are very quickly and directly addressed via Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which teaches the concept of self-control and self-confidence (both in Buddha's teachings and in NLP, control and confidence and anxiety and depression are correctly perceived as different aspects of the same emotion). Avoid the "pop culture" NLP folks and aim for the pioneers is my belief, based on some pretty heavy duty experiences.

For any deeply embedded (very often childhood) issues that are obstacles on the path, I suggest a hypnotherapist whom you can trust. Otherwise, my (non-hypnotic) suggestion is to study the writings of Milton H Erickson.

I haven't got issues with my weight, although sometimes my self-control needs a bit of tightening up. I am too vulnerable at times, my feelings are hurt and I tend to dwell on the emotional pain. This is as much an indulgence as overeating and certainly a rock slide on the path. Again, this is the locus of any habit: repetitive behavior often relegated to the unconscious. ***possibly of interest to some***:

After using this Guided Meditation repeatedly for a week, I changed my diet to one that was not quite, but almost, Vegan. Then, within a month, I saw no reason to eat meat at all. I've not been comfortable for many years eating red meat, but went along with the sort of callous behavior that is considered "normal". I love critters and had long taken issue with the eating of other sentient creatures. People say 'fowl' is all right, but then... I feed birds in order to help them survive. So, this content absolutely HAS influenced my diet ~ I believe in a very positive way ~ and given me the confidence to say 'no, I'm not interested in eating that. Thanks, anyway.' An interesting and positive result!

If you wish to purchase a targeted self-hypnotic relaxation script, might I suggest 'Guided Relaxation for the Body and Mind' by Heidi Minnick, PhD. It's another one that can be played repetitively throughout the night, as can this excellent Yoga Nidra and works well for people who suffer from chronic physical pain.

And for those who wish to achieve optimal consciousness through Yoga Nidra, Google the words Yoga Nidra and you'll see a fair description of the term via the Wikipedia link. Take one giant step further and search for Jainism within the Internet Sacred Text Archives (CD & DVD are for sale on Amazon. Yes, you can access the site for research purposes, but..please consider karma: the ISTA is an amazing resource: if you can afford to purchase the Media, please do. No, I do not work for the ISTA nor am I buddies with or biologically related to the Author, and am not any of the aforementioned to/at/with Amazon.

I love the voice, the music, the intervals.. this is well worth purchasing. It was astonishing how quickly I was able to achieve the deepest relaxation while maintaining total awareness.
