The guided meditation is alright but very short. If I realized this I wouldn't have bought it.

I highly recommend this relaxation CD by Dr. Minnick to all health professionals who are looking for adjunctive help for their clients/patients in need of stress management. My clients reported that Dr. Minnick's voice was so calming and reassuring that they used it not only for stressful times, but also on a regular basis to aid them in their meditation/relaxation practices. I have received such positive feedback from my clients on this CD that I now recommend it before any other relaxation media I have used in the past.

Dr. Minnick's calm voice and guided imagery are both extremely soothing. I have listened to many CDs on relaxation, and find Dr. Minnick's approach to be the most useful. This CD has the added benefit of offering relaxation sequences with music, waves, or voice only. A must for anyone trying to reduce tension!

I was able to sleep slightly better during weekends, but during weekdays I felt very tired when I woke up, with not enough rest. Like many of you, work usually is crazy for me, and by the time I get to work after a crazy commute, it feels like half my energy is already gone. I wanted to help myself and got "Guided Relaxation; Voice With Music" out of sheer curiosity, via Amazon download.

I got to bed, switched on my iPod, selected this hypnosis, and the last sentence I remember hearing was "There is nothing you have to do. Your own conscience will do the listening for you" or something like that. (You'll hear this about a minute after you start the audio. The audio is for about 20 minutes.)

That was it. I was knocked out. I woke up better the next day, and I actually couldn't believe it. So I tested it again, and again I just cannot remember anything she said past that 1 minute. (Dr. Heidi Minnick has an amazing soothing voice by the way)

Yesterday was the third time I listened to it. Usually, if I get to bed early, I just keep twisting and turning. As a test I deliberately went to bed very early (VERY - 8.20pm), played this audio again and I woke up at 6am this morning! And again, I don't remember anything past that one minute.

It actually even felt a little creepy; It made me wonder what on earth was there that knocked me out thrice!

This is the first time I am trying anything hypnotic (and understand the concept better probably because I dont remember a thing :) ). All I can honestly say is this helped me. I don't know if it is just me, but for those with a strong desire to rest/sleep better, this may truly help.

Worth a shot I'd say. Afterall, it's just 99 cents!

My passport photo of ten years ago made me look ten years older than my newest one. Why? Simply stated, on-the-job stress and the boss from Hell. If you find yourself similarly stressed regardless of the source, I heartily recommend a dose of Dr. Heidi Minnick's "Guided Relaxation for the Body and Mind."

If you feel the need for genuine healing relaxation, you'll find it here with three choices available to you: Dr. Minnick's soothing guidance against a background of ocean waves, her voice accompanied by a low-key musical composition and finally, my preference, her calming voice alone. All three accomplish their purpose.

I was fortunate enough to receive Dr. Minnick's CD as a gift and, although I could have used it years earlier, it does its magic today. I readily suggest you do yourself a favor now and treat yourself or someone you love to her very effective relaxation technique while at the same time increasing the chances of adding healthier, more creative years to your/their life. Should you be in doubt about this last statement, take the time to check the mortality statistics on people who use relaxation techniques and meditate contrasted with the general population. As the label suggests, guided relaxation is good for the body and mind.

I wanted a short (20 minute) recording to lead me through progressive relaxation and would leave me feeling renewed, capable of going about my day or, if I chose, to sleep. This recording is perfect. Heidi's voice is calming, not intrusive. I like the three options on the CD, voice only, voice with waves, and voice with music. I like voice with music best, it is very soothing. Heidi doesn't include a long introduction, but gets right to deep breathing. I love this CD. It is well worth the money. I have used it to help control migraine headaches. I have recommended this CD to my family and friends.

Start the New Year with a total body relaxation meditation. I listened to the CD and found it to be exactly what I was looking for. I was coached by Dr. Minnick into a deep and restful place. Her voice is calm and direct. I even fell asleep at the end of the meditation! I plan on having this CD be a part of my daily routine for 2007. I Owe It To Myself. Any you do too!!

This is a good relaxation tape that is divided into three segments of 20 minutes. The vocals are the same for each 20 min. segment but in one segment there are waves in the background and one segment has relaxing music and the other segment is just the voice. Truthfully I only listen to the segment with the relaxing music in the background cause that works best for me. I like that I can relax and know it will only be twenty minutes which is easy to fit into my busy schedule and it helps me relax deeper and focus. I feel like it is worth the price if you are interested in short progressive relaxation sessions.

This is an excellent script which can be set to loop and play throughout the night ~ all three versions or choose the one you like best. If your CD/DVD player doesn't provide the software to repeat the audio tracks, download the album and duplicate the segment or all three tracks and fill a CD-R and set repeat from your player, if you want to hear Dr. Minnick all night. It is really not intrusive ~ I've slept a full nine hours without waking once, awoke surprised at hearing the CD still playing... when I shut it off, my partner woke up. Since then, I've learned to get up and let the CD keep playing..he'll sleep another 6- - 90 minutes.

My partner suffers from chronic pain and sleep apnea. I put the CD in and set the three versions to play continuously throughout the night. Heidi Minnick has a wonderfully soothing voice, great cadence and delivery.

This is a great must-have for relaxation, whether you're just looking for an assisted method for dealing with insomnia or are a professional therapist seeking an alternative path for helping your clients... particularly those who suffer chronic pain, as Dr. Minnick does not use the traditional tense and relax suggestions but uses a much gentler approach which is equally, if not more powerful.

It is well-priced (an absolute bargain, in my consideration) and has already (in a short time) paid for itself many times over in the comfort provided for a man who typically doesn't want to have to focus on moving any or every muscle once he's laid down in bed. Really is a wonderful tool for healing!

The Guided Relaxation for Body and Mind CD by Dr. Minnick is absolutely the best! I have tried several other CD's and nothing compares to this one. Her voice is very soothing and so relaxing. I listen to it at least once a day during my lunch hour and especially after work. I feel immediately calmer and more rested. The breathing exercises have had many beneficial effects. My lung capacity has definitely increased. I also use the breathing exercises when stressful situations arise. Drifting off to sleep is an added advantage when I play it before bedtime. I would like to have another CD by Dr. Minnick when she has time to create one!
