4.0 out of 5 stars Authoritative summary of accepted diagnosis procedures, June 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Practice Guideline for Psychiatric Evaluation of Adults (American Psychiatric Association Practice Guidelines) (Paperback)
This review is based on the version of the book that is posted on APA's web site.

The practice guidelines authorititatively summarize the accepted procedures for diagnosing people with emotional or mental symptoms.

More emphasis should be placed on a thorough medical workup for all new patients. Although it may need to be performed by a physician other than the treating psychiatrist, it is important to check for possible physical causes of symptoms.
