3.0 out of 5 stars Good Game
Guild Wars is a great game, it's very long and open. Collectors editions are great values, especially for the in-game codes. Free playing, and great graphics. My only complaint is the Guild Wars security and customer support, they will suspend/ban you for every little thing you do and after talking to support all you will get is automated messages that don't help, at all.

Games have certainly come a long way and Guild Wars: Factions is no different!

Characters: Both classes offer niche offerings. For example, the Ritualist is a great support character with either healing or damage-dealing properties. The Assassin on the other hand can rush in and do damage every second, slicing and dicing the enemy before they have time to react. What is the most important feature of Guild Wars over all though? Your secondary profession! It MUST compliment your first one if you want a well-rounded character as elite skills are just the tip of the iceberg.

PvP: Howabout PvP you say? Guild Wars: Factions has it in the form of unlimited potential sporting actual missions that can be done over and over again with guild members or with randomly grouped comrades in arms.

PvE: Quests and missions do abound, but not as greatly as in Guild Wars: Prophecies. Guild Wars: Factions only contains thirteen missions total where Guild Wars: Prophecies contained more than twenty. Does this hurt the game? Well, there are plenty of areas to explore, but the continent is not as large as the landmass of Tyria by any means so technically, you could finish exploring all of Cantha in less time then the later. BUT, the game does manage to balance this out though with a very good placement of enemies including enemies that roam in semi-predictable paths making strategizing even more important as you may find an enemy that was running away from you suddenly coming up behind you!

All in all, I'm still playing through Factions on my third completed character and still finding new nooks and crannies to explore. If you're a fan of in-depth RPG's, then you'll enjoy Guild Wars: Factions.

The extras included in the collectors edition package are worth the extra price. It includes an book of Artwork, and music soundtrack are super. The calendar is dated but cool. It includes a code for a one time special mini pet Kunavang retrievable online. This is a highly sought after mini pet and one that I will say always attracts attention when online. Unlike the first Guild Wars release, most of the landscape is a city scape which gives the fights a much different feel. I am only half way thorough the game, and so maybe there will be some suprises yet, however I find that the cityscape to be drugery. The ability to get Celestial Items, only place in the Guild Wars world, is a great selling point. Celestial Weapons are impressive looking.

The item reached its destination in decent time in good condition. The game itself is highly recommended if you don't own it but have the other versions such as, prophecy, nightfall, and eye of the north. The story line was intriguing.

This game is one(1) of the two (2) standalone expansions of the Guild Wars series. I love the Guild Wars series because of its non-pay-to-playness. Thats right, you do NOT have to pay monthly to play this game. Its not a true MMO, but its damn near it. ALl the cities are MMO stylized, where you see everyone and have different channels. But all the questing and outside city parts are "instances". Its not bad in the aspect that you wont have to wait for rare spawns and what not. You can have a party with you friends as well. At first the parties are only 2 player but it eventually increases to 4 (It might have been 6). This game in particular of the series is the fastest to level up, Nightfall is quicker than Prophecies but not by much. Eventually when you are high enough level, you would be able to switch your character to a different game, given you own that game as well and its attached to your account. You start off with 5 character slots and gain 2 for each game add on (Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall) I do not own Eye of the North so I can tell you much about it. I do know that eye of the North is the only true expansion (you need the game), and it is for Prophecies (the orignial). Factions and Nightfall introduce 2 new classes each that are only available in the respective games. Factions includes: Assassin and Ritualist. Nightfall includes: Dervish and Paragon. All three games have the standard classes: Fighter, Monk, Ranger, Mesmer and Elementalist. This game does have pvp and has characters that you can make that are pvp only (start at max, level 20). Graphics wise, it does not have to best graphics but they are very nice. I would definately recommend this game to any rpg player. Its price is amazing for the quality of this game.

This is an awesome game. I just recently started playing Guild Wars and I find the games very easy to get used to for someone who has never played. I like the fact that it is free to play online. I would definitely recommend this game to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guild Wars - Factions: Collector's Edition, May 9, 2008
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Guild Wars Factions: Collector's Edition (CD-ROM)
This is a quality product with many extra features making the Collector's Edition well worth purchasing. The depth of details in the game itself is inspiring and the world setting is rich in flavor. For anyone who likes the original Guild Wars, they will find this game a welcome addition providing hundreds of hours of fun. The additional character classes this game allows players to utilize (assassin & ritualist) meld well with the other Guild Wars character types. For PvE players, the number of NPCs and quests to become involved with are extensive and enthralling. For PvP players, the new skill sets will spice up your encounters. Overall, a well thought out game setting that should appeal both to new Guild Wars players and long-timer players as well.

= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Guild Wars Factions: Collector's Edition (CD-ROM)
the game is excellent and the graphics are cool. What dissapointed me are all the extras,(map, poster etc.)they are of poor quality and actually it looks they only put them to get more money. I know that's the point of any special edition, but I would like to see someting better for the extra money.
