I originally bought this because I got tired of waiting for NWN2 promised expansions, but am now hooked on this! The engine is easy to use and the play fun and really interesting. The no charge online play is great and the graphics gorgeous.
Highly recommend!

Guildwars is a wonderful alternative to traditional Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games for those that don't want to pay a monthly charge.
GW offers plenty of quests to keep you busy, and it supplies a full group of NPCs for players that don't like to play with strangers.

GREAT game. I bought two copies of this for my boys so we can all play together and maintain our own character accounts.
This is not what I would call platinum. Prophesies IS GREAT, Eye of the North is pretty good too. I was only disappointed that this was all it came with.

Without a doubt, if you enjoy online gaming in the fantasy genre, this game is worth a look. The UI is smooth and easy to understand, the visuals are stunning(especially for an older game), as usual Jeremy Soule has delivered a wonderful score to make every one of your travels a musical marvel, the skill system allows for unique character growth and strategy, and the people you will be playing with are most often kind and helpful.
I love the way they limit your character to eight skills. Some may not enjoy earning skills and not always being able to access them, but it is a wonderful mechanic that allows the player to really think about how they want to play and build a character that actually feels unique to you. It get really interesting when you consider how many skills your character will have acces to: hundreds. The micro-transactions in this game really are unimportant, which is refreshing in a world where games go free to play and limit the amount of coin you can collect. Oh, and in case you didn't already know, this game truly is free after you have purchased. No subscription require whatsoever. As in most RPG's, the story is a focus in Guild Wars. The story in this game has raised the bar for MMO's, and it was, without any spoilers, an fascinating story to experience. My only faults with this game aren't really that upsetting, and I see their necessity on some levels. A major problem with MMO's are those hardcore player and trolls wish to grief other players, and especially so around lower level players. Guild Wars removes this problem by making the over-map world outside of the central towns a separate place from the server where you interact with others. You can adventure in this game alone and still enjoy it to the fullest with absolutely no annoyance from others. If you wish to be social and play with other players then all you have to do is partner up in the central hubs and then, once you leave whatever town your in, you can all enjoy the game world together. Also, I highly suggest the Platinum Edition if you are interested in Guild Wars 2, as the Eye of the North campaign allows your future character to inherit gear and other prizes from the characters you make in the original Guild Wars. Overall, this game is marvelously well built and well maintained. The community is inviting and fun to play with, and the audio/video sides of the game are stunning. It is fun and the story is engaging. It can be played single player style or more like a tradition MMO, and I would recommend it to people you would normally exclude themselves from online RPG's. This game is a must buy, and Guild Wars 2 looks to be the same way. (Disclaimer: I am just entering the PvP side of this game, and so far I haven't noticed any balancing issues or anything like that. There are some problems with certain game modes, but for the most part this PvP is better that anything else I've seen in an MMO) ***** I am a 16 year old who is interested in writing reviews for any and all video games.
