Somme,

The battles for Guillemont was one of the great epics of the battle. Finally captured on 3rd September 1916 after nearly five weeks of heavy fighting.Michael Stedman has written an excellant account of the battle with some good photos of the terrible devastation of the area, and how it looks today. Also contains recommendations for tours. A must buy for those students of the war who are interested in the Somme, 1916.
