Book Description

January 6, 2009
In her most controversial and fiercely argued book yet, Ann Coulter calls out liberals for always playing the victim – when in fact, as she sees it, they are the victimizers. In GUILTY, Coulter explodes this myth to reveal that when it comes to bullying, no one outdoes the Left. GUILTY is a mordantly witty and shockingly specific catalog of offenses which Coulter presents from A to Z. And as with each of her past books, all of which were NYT bestsellers, Coulter is fearless in her penchant for saying what needs saying about politics and culture today.

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Citing political campaigns and the media and even taking a historical look at assassins, New York Times best-selling author Coulter (If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd All Be Republicans) strives here to convince readers of the evils of the liberal left. If, like Coulter, you believe that the biggest problem facing this nation is the plague of single mothers, then you're in for a treat (she devotes nearly an hour to this particular rant). Coulter fans will eat this up—others may find it hard to digest. Love the book or hate it, the narration by Margy Moore, whose inflection matches Coulter's no-holds-barred style, is right on target. For public libraries. [Audio clip available through library.booksontape.com; the Crown Forum hc, published in January, was a New York Times best seller.—Ed.]—Valerie Piechocki, Prince George's Cty. 5.0 out of 5 stars Another Winner January 22, 2009
Format:Hardcover
Regardless of your political persuasion, or your opinion of Ann, you should read this book. It's a work that you will either love or hate. There's little in between.

This book's style is not unlike the style in her previous best sellers. But 'Guilty' seems in some places to have an even sharper point to the stick she taunts the liberal establishment, and more so the mainstream media with.

Her research is meticulously accurate, and she shows no mercy to anyone who stands in her path.

As one of my liberal friends who read the book put it "although I totally disagree with her, I must admit she has more stones than any guy I've met". If her style is confrontational, her points are backed up by well documented facts. She does her own research,so there's no one to blame for any factual errors, if you can find one. I've yet to see anyone document any misstatement of fact in her books, no matter what Media Matters claims. She makes no apology for the points she makes, or the way she makes them.

If you're of the conservative mindset, you'll probably love this book even more than her previous works. If you're more liberal, you'll be more enraged. She forces the reader to confront issues with her take no prisoners approach.

That frequently provokes strong reactions from both sides, but it also facilitates a dialog that many are too timid to confront. And it's a dialog that is long over due.

That's what good books do. You might not agree with some of it, or any of it. But if it makes you think, and it promotes the discussion of issues, it accomplishes a purpose beyond just being entertaining. Though it is a very entertaining work as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book! April 9, 2009
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great book! I was simply amazed to learn of all the events revealed in this book that had taken place over the past two or three decades of which I had no knowledge. I love to read (particularly history) and stay pretty current with politics and economics: yet, I had no inkling of many of the things that have gone on in this country. It was a real eye-opener. It confirmed my belief that the media has a large liberal bias and suppresses any news that is embarrassing to or negative about liberals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Success April 11, 2009
Format:Hardcover
Ms. Coulter hits the nail on the head in this timely review of the left's most frequently used manipulation tactic.

It should be noted that I actually read the book. The "Moderates" (the newest term for liberals) that reviewed this book undoubtedly did not read the book. This is often outright admitted in the review or can be realized by anyone with at least a 3rd grade education (I realize that leaves most of Hollywood out).

The facts (or as the liberals like to call them lies) presented in this book can be instantly researched from the handy footnotes available throughout the book. Ms. Coulter covers a variety of topics in this book making it one of the most educational books I have ever read. Up until a few years ago I actually relied on the televised media for information (shocking I know) which is kind of like relying on candy for proper nutrition.

If you want the unadulterated truth I would read this book. You will walk away feeling clean and refreshed.

Coulter has zero tact but she states facts and cites credible sources. People hate her but those who do rarely read her work.

Ann you need to get a job at Columbia or Medill. The buds need to be nipped before they enter the liberal mainstream.

But, guilty of what? Well, for starters she's guilty of lying.

On page 15 she writes, "Fox News has never been caught promoting a fraud."

Why the skimpy attire?
Someone please inform Ms. Coulter that her style of dress would be considered inappropriate by many of the people she claims to speak for. I attended a conservative Christian school growing up and would have been expelled for dressing the way she does. How can you don a conservative label when... Read more

Why would anyone want to read her hate speech...
You ask why anyone would want to read her hate speech, then you make a comment about wishing her injury were permanent. I'm gonna go ahead and call that hate speech, then dismiss you as a typical leftist. You only tout the first amendment when the person utilizing it is on the same side of the... Read more

JS - What you say is undoubtedly true for many of the positive reviews.

However, Coulter's book has been promoted for weeks now and people have been pre-ordering for a long time. I am pretty sure that positive reviewers are more likely to have reviewed the book (fans are more likely to order... Read more

What's All the FUSS About?
The only one who came close to "owning" Coulter might have been Huckabee. Franken was a total bust - bad, bad comic too. Corolla comported himself really well - hanging up on Coulter for no real reason amid a barrage of expletives. Yeah, she was really "owned"...haha
