... for this album is INDEED "Guilty Pleasures". These are 20 of the most catchy "hate to admit that you love them" 70's songs recorded by a band that can pull it off. You may ask, why? Well, why I can't speak for Lazlo Bane themselves, I would say after listening, the answer would be "Because they can!" All the songs are true to the original versions, which is amazing because this is quite an eclectic collection of songs. With the exception of "Highway to Hell", they are all pop songs. Most of the originals were composed by artists that may have been considered "one-hit-wonders" to casual pop fans. The reality is there are some excellent songs here originally recorded by talented artists re-done just as good, if not better than, the originators.

This review is from: Guilty Pleasures (MP3 Download)
I just recently discovered this band from the theme from Scrubs, and I got this MP3 Cd here, on CD baby they were charging 12 dollars.
Anyway, the Cd is full of good songs, 20 full length songs, which is rare for bands nowadays. Some of the ones that really stood out were "all by myself", "Stuck in the Middle", "lonely boy", and "baby come back" I'm not really a fan of the cheesy 70s music, but this band makes them more than tolerable. The only song that grates on me is "Lime in the Coconut" but it wasn't a good song to begin with. "Highway to Hell" sounds dead-up like ACDC. It sounds like a different take of the song by the real band. I think this album is definitely worth the 8.99 it costs, for all the songs you get. I seriously can't stop listening to it. It's a mood booster for sure. I'm normally a metal fan, but this is a great change up. Also check out their other release, All the time in the world. It's got a good mixture of songs, my favorites being "Scene of the Crime" and the Scrubs song, "Superman"All the Time in the World
