4.0 out of 5 stars Not for the faint of arousal
In 27 stories by some of the best known erotica and porn writers of our time, almost every imaginable sexual attraction, scenario, or activity is described. This isn't fiction, however, but accounts of the real lives and interests of these authors (all of whom are much much risque than myself in reallife). Every type of pairing can be found but don't think this is for...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Much For Heterosexuals
I can imagine gays and lesbians finding some interest in many of the stories in this collection. The few stories that might appeal to heterosexuals were O.K., but not worth the price of the book...

In 27 stories by some of the best known erotica and porn writers of our time, almost every imaginable sexual attraction, scenario, or activity is described. This isn't fiction, however, but accounts of the real lives and interests of these authors (all of whom are much much risque than myself in reallife). Every type of pairing can be found but don't think this is for hets, gays, or bis because the point of the book isn't really arousal (you'll find plenty that turns you both on and off) but to share how sexuality is experienced by real people who in turn create fantasies for the rest of us. I, honestly, did not find myself turned on very much but I found it all very interesting. If you are looking for pages upon pages of arousal, look elsewhere; if you want to see how strange real sex can be, then give this book a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read!, January 13, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Guilty Pleasures (Paperback)
This book was a great buy. The stories were smart and hot. Some were thought provoking and some were shocking. Some were even amusing. My favorite authors from the book were, M. Christian, Midori, AJ Heard, Cara Bruce and Bill Brent.

This is a book that would make a great gift, even for yourself!

5.0 out of 5 stars Insight into REAL SEX, June 11, 2002
This review is from: Guilty Pleasures (Paperback)
If you think HBO Real Sex is good, wait til you read what erotica authors REALLY LIKE TO DO IN BED! This book is TRUE FANTASIES, not just porn, not crafted-from-the-mind fiction. It is gritty and real and raw and alive. I can't believe how creative people can get about sex. Read this book, you will really dig it! Especially if you have a favorite author like Jamie Joy Gatto, M. Christian or Bill Brent. It rocks :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars So cool to get inside these writers' heads!, November 21, 2004
This review is from: Guilty Pleasures (Paperback)
Curious about what makes somebody write erotica, I bought this book. I was pleasantly surprised to find honest, heartfelt, and sometimes uncomfortable admissions of the real motivations behind the desire to write about sex. These writers (well, most of them, anyway) shed intelligent light not only on the crafting of erotica, but also on the process of writing it. They all have different reasons and rarely are they reasons you'd expect! Great idea for a book -- wish somebody had done it sooner. Highly recommend if you're like me and love to know what makes things erotic and what makes erotica writers put pen to paper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Limp Writing, February 5, 2002
This review is from: Guilty Pleasures (Paperback)
I hate to be hard on any work, but this one was really disappointing. The writing reads like something out of a bad comic book. Sorry, but I just can't recommend this one.

several of the authors, and have a signed copy. My favorite is the one by A.J. Heard, and I think it will knock your socks off. Bill Brent and Carol Queen also have what I call great stories in this fun and interesting book.
