2.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I'm too old...
I got this game (at age 40) because of the fantastic reviews and the great price. I don't know, but the games seem way too hard. I read the directions, I try very hard over and over and I never seem to be able to anything very well. I find this games interface a little confusing and the games frustrating. I enjoy DS games, too, I've even reviewed one for here and reviewed...

5.0 out of 5 stars Guiness World of Records VideoGame DS, December 31, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Guinness World Records: The Videogame (Video Game)
This is a great game you must get it I know you hear this alot but this is unbelievable.I have had my ds and never used it wirelessly till I tried this game.It is also great to play by yourself too.
The favorite one so far is bubblegum blowing (HANDS FREE and STYLUS FREE).You blow in the MIC to blow bubbles but have to keep the arrow in the middle of the meter.Right now I am the Best Console,Regional and National record Holder.
You unlock games by earning coins .the better u R at the game the more coins u get to unlock more fun games.
There is also a tatoo game in where u use the stylus as a tatoo gun to color tatoos` and see how many you can finish in a given time.
Body Piercing You tap the stylus when the circle turns green to make a piercing while this dude lies on a stretcher and you pierce his arms, legs etc.....
Paper airplane throwing:how far u throw a paper airplane.
Plunger Throwing :like Knife throwing from a Magic Show A woman spins on a wheel and you ail plungers at the target while she is attatched to a round target.Don't hit her hit the target.
Turkey Plucking:You use the stylus to pull feathers out of a turkey .
Sheep Shearing:you see how fast you can W/ Stylus shave sheep.
BMX Rider:You go back and forth On a banana shaped ramp.
Space hopper: you Bounce on one of those rubbeer handles back
A space game like Asteroids(Atari Game) but better. You use the Stylus to glide through space and shoot other ships.Better then asteroids though.
Smelliest Mammel:You make a skunk spray a green toxic burst comes out and a strange bathroom sound while you poke him with the Stylus.Very Cute and funny!
Biggest Sky Scraper:Something like Tetris but a bit harder to make the tallest building.
Unicycle Jumping; You make a Unicycle jump over hurdles.
Car Balacing:You use`the satylus to balance a vehicle on your head:
Unfortunately
Unfortunately this is a retyped review as I was just booted of the internet othyerwise it would have all the games.
Melon Crushing:you use the stylus you crack melons with your head using the stylus as they go by on a converor belt.
Plane Eating:You hammer a plane to pieces and then a mouth appears so you can run the mouth over bits of your` plane as you rub the run the pen over the plane it dissapears.
Balloon popping:You pop 50 balloons w/stylus in the fastest time.
Plus 20 more I don't want this review to get erased B-4 I am done.
You also earn outfits for your character and certificates as you go along .Also if you beat a regional, national or world record you can wait as a Guiness judge validates the record you broke.
Cockroack eating is anotherin which you use the stylus to grab roaches and then use stylus to chew quickly in a fast time.
Washer throwing:Youthrow a washing machine the greatest distance w/ stylus.
Fastest Rocket:haven't tried yet
So now there r about 16 games left to mention,I love this game it is time consuming as` well as addicting so don't plan on a 15 minute game.
I usually plan on a half hour which easily turns into 2 or 3.
Sounds like I don't have a life huh?Well get this game and you will see what I mean.It is soooooo fun.Graphics could b a lil better but other then that 10 stars

5.0 out of 5 stars So Much Fun Trying to break records~An adult player, December 11, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Guinness World Records: The Videogame (Video Game)
This was such a deal the day I got it I thought what have I to lose? This game is so much fun. It is very good for eye hand coordination and fast thinking. I have only played about 6 of the I believe 36 major games. It is fun just trying to break your own records but you can also go against the regional, National, And World records. You can wifi with others also.

My favorite so far is the tallest building in New York. I keep trying over and over. Also the unicycle jumping over barriers, the biggest chewing gum bubble....not to mention the highest video game score. I think anyone 8-80 yrs old will have fun. You do have to have good reading skills as some of the instructions are a bit technical. I have had to re-read a few to get the hang of the game.

Great gift for a DS player.

I got this for my 8-year old son since he loves the Guiness Books. He thought it was so much fun. His 7-year old sister especially loves it. She wants a DSI for her birthday, and this is the game she most cares about playing on it! I tried playing it too and it was fun but they are much better at it than me!!

I read the directions, I try very hard over and over and I never seem to be able to anything very well. I find this games interface a little confusing and the games frustrating. I enjoy DS games, too, I've even reviewed one for here and reviewed it highly, so I don't know why everyone else loves this game and I just can't get into it. I've tried but it's just repetitive and frustrating for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars A BLAST TO PLAY!, January 25, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Guinness World Records: The Videogame (Video Game)
I bought this for my 6 y.o. son. The guy at the video game store tried to talk me out of it but I am glad I didn't listen to him. This game is fun to play.

You hold the Nintendo ds like a book to play for most games. First you pick your country, then region before choosing 1 of the 4 players (2 boys & 2 girls) made available. Up to four players can participate at a time. You can personalize the your character and although they appear childish, the game itself is fun for all ages. Your character wanders the world to find challenges. At first, only certain challenges are available; the rest need to be purchased.

The challenges are as varied as the Guinness World Record books themselves. There are brief explanations of how to play each game which don't always help but a few plays will help you get the hang of it. Some games are much harder then others so we steer our youngest toward ones we know will not frustrate him (like the bubble, turkey plunking or sheep challenge). With a wifi connection, you can compete against others around the world and take the opportunity to post your own Guinness World Record score (personally, we've never been close but it's always nice to have a goal & ideal for better players).

This game is great silly fun for the whole family. I need to try this on our wii system for game night!

Simple enough for my 4 year old to do on his own after I initially showed him what to do and keeps his interest.

Bought this as a gift for my daughter... she likes cooking mama and those types of games. She really liked this one. Actually, her friends and brothers all like borrowing it from her as well. There are some really cool challenges on it and the kids like competing with each other. I would rec with no negatives... My daughter is 11 and my son will be turning 13 but It would also be good for much younger kids as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what my 7 year old wanted!, March 28, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: Guinness World Records: The Videogame (Video Game)
My 7 year old has recently been fascinated with the Guinness Book of World Records, so I thought I would surprise him with this game for Valentine's Day. Reading some of the reviews, I didn't expect much, but he LOVES this game! He has had as much fun making new characters as he has had in playing the game! He loves beating his own records and the games are kooky and wacky enough to be great fun for a 7 year old. What I love is that the games are short, so when its time to turn the ds off, he can do it almost right away, unlike some games where you hear "wait mom, I just have to finish this level!" I like the way it tracks your progress and he loves to show me all of the awards and his accomplishments. I would recommend this for younger fans of Guinness Books, but I could see where older children (11+) might find this a little boring. Overall, great product, exceptional price!

This game has never had a low price like this one. Its new, and I was shocked to see the rock bottom price. I paid $6.99 for this and everywhere else sells them for $19.99 or higher at all retail stores. Don't pay a high price plus sales tax at the store. Order it from Amazon! Even better with Amazon Prime! You'll never regret the savings on Amazon!
