this controller is a little different from the original. the size is about the same, but some of the button layout has changed somewhat. namely, the select and start button got swapped, so activating Star Power by 'select button' is made much easier.

that 'tilt up' motion senser is still there, so if you prefer to start your star power that way, you can do that too. the 'shake' sensor is supposedly there too, but since i never active power using that to begin with, i didn't bother to check on this feature.

the fret buttons are positioned the same, so ppl with smaller hands could have problems, and playing for long durations still hurt. however i think the buttons are not quite as 'deep' as they were before, and that helps somewhat. hopefully this will also reduce the chance of keys getting stuck later on due to oil/dirt piling ups, but that remains to be seen.

overall, a great product made better, what's not to like? and for 33 bucks, can't beat that price, either.

I like this controller because its wired. I had a wireless controller as my second controller before and it was horrible...had sticky buttons, batteries died fast, and it had slow response. I sold the wireless and bought this controller because I know they old ones never have problems...the buttons don't stick, star power works great, immediate response, etc. If you're going to purchase any GH controller, make it this one. You won't be disappointed.

I am so glad that we got the extra controller. Guitar Hero is so much fun to play by yourself, but even better when you have two playing at the same time!! This is the best idea ever!!

The game is great with all of our favorite generation songs. It's VERY ADDICTIVE, EASY!! FUN!!

Controller was in 100% new condition, no problems at all, amazon delivered it as usual within a couple days. This is pretty much your only option with Guitar Hero for PS2. This guitar is also forwards compatible with Guitar Hero 2. However, if you have an XBOX 360, I suggest waiting for the 360 controller and the game.

The kids have used this guitar for a month now with not one complaint. The wireless guitar they had before did not perform well. So after reading these reviews we purchased this controller, and am extremely pleased with it!

Great guitar controller. The game is totally different with it. The buttons work perfectly. The shipping package was extremely large. Other than that, a great product. I would recommend a wireless version of this controller.

The guitar was very well made. And there has been some people that customize thiers into something better. Some have been made into full size guitars instead of mini-sized. Buying another guitar is just way beyond more fun then by yourself and for even more fun the seconed guitar hero is coming out in about a month from now! Now you can play at your level in Co-op or head to head. Also in VS mode you can both play at the same time intead of playing back and forth in the first guitar hero.

Where was I....Oh...Buy a second guitar!!!! You will no regret it!

Bought one and then had to buy another for two players. Its been a never ending play by play for my son and daughter. The only thing that is having them turn the sound down, overall, a very good game.

I was very pleased with this purchase. The guitar came fast, was well packaged, and was an affordable price. I might be purchasing another controller!
