Chords and Scales for dummies?,
By amuir2k@gsm.uci.edu (Irvine, Ca) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Guitar Scale Theory (Paperback)
Disclaimer: I am musically challenged, I don't play guitar very well, however, I do know that if you are trying to understand the fundamentals of music, this book is great. The book explains how chords, scales, and keys are related, and gives simple examples of how to use them all properly together. Other books I read on music and music theory seemed to assume a fundamental base of music knowledge that I didn't have, and hence I never really figured it out. This book explains music (specifically scales and their relationship to chords) in a very simple yet elegant fashion. I definitely recommend this one for folks that don't already have a lot of music theory under their belt; hard to beat for the price.
