Let me start by saying im a huge guitar hero fan so im going somewhat easy on this review... The songs are good but What bothers me the most is the load time. takes forever to load between songs. The graphics are horrible and i have only had this for a week and it has froze up on me 3 times!!!!! Very glitchy... Only get it if your a huge fan of guitar hero and have no other systems to play it on ..i would recommend the 360 or ps3 not the ps2, like i said only if you have no other systems.. Although the van halen offer is cool but i have not yet to see my copy and there seems to be alot of stuff to go through to actually get a free copy....

Huge guitar hero fan here, so this maaay be biased.
Yes, the load time between songs does take a while. That's the only thing that bugs me, but I've figured out my own little way of not caring about that anymore. I distract myself by checking little things on the internet, or play another game on my computer while waiting for GH to load. It doesn't take forever though, maybe 2 minutes max load time between songs. What I do love though are the song choices this time. There are some songs that I really love to play again and again. This time they seem to have picked songs that are way more fun to sing as well. I know a lot more songs for a change and actually like most of them :) I've never popped in a brand new guitar hero and knew right away which songs I wanted to play. Favorites: Sublime - "What I Got" (honestly couldn't wait for them to use this song. Love playing/singing it) Stevie Wonder - "Superstition" Rolling Stones - "Sympathy for the Devil" Garbage - "Only Happy When It Rains" 3 Doors Down - "Kryptonite" A Perfect Circle - "Judith" Billy Squier - "Lonely is the Night" Blur - "Song 2" Bob Dylan - "All Along the Watchtower" Bon Jovi - "You Give Love A Bad Name" David Bowie - "Fame" Deep Purple - "Woman From Tokyo ('99 Remix)" Duran Duran - "Hungry Like The Wolf" Gorillaz - "Feel Good Inc." John Mellencamp - "Hurts So Good" Johnny Cash - "Ring of Fire" Queen & David Bowie - "Under Pressure" The Police - "So Lonely" The White Stripes - "Blue Orchid" So overall, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the newest Guitar Hero :)

The game is fun
but I bought the game used, and it was scratched, and it takes FOREVER too load, and it just doesn't work properly, so I've only played it once.... I actually would rather have my money back than the game.

All in all its a pretty fun game...just like most of the other GH games. A bit more challenging than GH3 and pretty much on par with World Tour. Only a halfway decent list of songs. There are alot of songs on this one but not all of them are great and a few are even downright horrible and just a chore to play. My biggest problem is that this game will randomly start skipping in the middle of play. This happens at least 3 out of 5 times I play it. I have a brand new ps2 that is only about a month old so I know it is not my hardware.

The game was a lot of fun for two months, great songs...but then it just stopped working, we tryed all our Play Station games and they all worked fine, cleaned the disc, etc...so it wasn't the console. I was really upset.

Great game, but takes along time to load and in my opinion, which shouldn't apply to everyone, it does not have the greatest song selection. Overall it is still recommendable, because it works with the drum kit and microphone and multiple guitars. Which makes for great parties! Go get it today.

Alright so here's what I think about the game-----Graphics 9/10-its Guitar hero,What do you expect? they are cartoon-ish,But I still like it the way it is. Sound 10/10-Well,Master tracks so...great! Gameplay 8.5/10-great songs(With people like-Jimmy Eat World,Nirvana,Coldplay,AFI,Iggy pop(Live),Etc.)Though,Not as many Features as I would of liked..Its just a music game,Nothing more,Nothing less. Bottom line 9/10-get the game if you like good music(Some 80 tracks)but if you are looking for a Rev. Game then this isn't it...Good luck!

I've been playing the drums in the Rock Band and Guitar Hero series since their release, and this is another mediocre Guitar Hero title. Not as bad as World Tour, but not too far behind either. The playlist is ok, but I still don't understand why they can't stack these games full of widely recognizable songs. Regardless of the content, the graphics are poor, and the audio quality is bad, so the sensory experience is pretty low. In general, the game seems lifeless. But if you're like me and play the game for the challenge, then you'll enjoy it similar to GHWT just because you have some new songs to play. Not much replay value or overall fun like the Rock Band series, but if you're hamstrung with a PS2 and can pick this up for cheap, it's worth your time and money.
