Five STAR all the way,

This review is from: Guitar Towns: A Journey to the Crossroads of Rock 'n' Roll (Hardcover)
No fan of rock or the guitar will be disappointed by this incredible compilation. It is a treasure. Equal parts travelogue and rock and pop music history book, McNutt's work is at once compelling, humorous and touching. Guitar Towns takes you from Guitar Slim duck-walking on car hoods on Bourbon Street in the 1950s to Garth Brooks trudging as a rejected unknown through the alleys of Nashville decades later. You can't put this book down once you pick it up and its stories are unforgettable.

I, too, love this book but when I saw that John's inadvertent 1-star really was a 5-star, thought I'd better add my rating, too -- from the rousing behind-the-scenes stories of early rock 'n' roll in New Orleans, to the dusty roads Randy McNutt traveled to get to these stories, you can't beat the love of the music coming through. Yup, 5-stars all the way
