Before buying this DVD, I think you should be aware that this is an abbreviated version. There is the complete version, "How to Play All of the Jimi Hendrix Experiences Electric Ladyland" out there. Who knows, by the time you read this it may be available on Amazon. I gave this 4 stars because I couldn't submit this review without a rating and I've seen other Andy Aledort Jimi Hendrix DVDs and I bet this one will be good.

If you are pursuing learning Jimi Hendrix be prepared to work your butt off. Hendrix is HARD and presupposes that you are soaked in blues and blues/rock. Andy Aledort is THE reference but you still will need to figure out how to get those tones on your own. I did it by imitating Robin Trower's rig, and I'm sure that there must be other ways to do it. It took me two years to figure out what equipment I should buy. If it was easy everyone could do it, and it wouldn't be rare and valuable. Even learning one Hendrix tune halfway will radically improve your playing. Do you want to be experienced?

While there are only six songs on this, true, it's three hours of Andy Aledort walking you through -- visually and verbally -- every guitar part to each of these songs. If you can't play these songs after this, it's your own fault. Better value for this much money, I rarely see.

Andy Aledort is the best ! The thing about these instructionals is that you have to take the time to put all the pieces together , and then practice it over and over. I have the parts now !
