This review is from: GuitarOne Presents Legends of Lead Guitar: The Best of Interviews: 1995-2000 (Paperback)
This book consists of a large number of interviews with guitarists of various stripes (not all of which are "lead" guitarists, but that doesn't matter much). The interviews are generally of high quality, with plenty of sensible questions asked, and plenty of intriguing and informative answers given.Interview books of this kind are enjoyable and enlightening resources for guitarists who want to learn from their peers, particularly peers who have attained some success. If you've never read such a book before, I highly recommend giving it a try; you'll almost surely gain inspiration and insights which will help you become a better musician yourself. One tip regarding reading the book. As you read each interview, I suggest listening to music by that particular guitarist in the background (you can find it in Google videos for pretty much all of the guitarists in the book). This added dimension will greatly enhance your experience of reading the book, and could perhaps even be considered essential. Happy reading (and listening)! |
