5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best!
This is easily one of the best rock albums of all time.Something Warm sounds like a dream,Timeless has one of Rick's most interesting solos ever and It Must Be Love complete with bomb blast will knock your socks off.

3.0 out of 5 stars This brings back some memories
I remember finding a promo version of this album at a long out-of-business record store in downtown Cleveland. I recall it being only about a $1.98 and figured "what have I got to lose". I wasn't much of a Derringer fan, but I read on the back cover that Todd Rundgren and Utopia played on the record. They were one of my favorite bands. Now here it is, over 20...

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT!, September 20, 2009
This review is from: Guitars & Women (Audio CD)
Come on! Print some more copies of this album! The current price is ridiculous. You want more people to hear this, not fewer. This set is HOT! Derringer has the fire and he can carry it to the mountain top. Many of his other records have the touch, but this one is special. Great tunes--he plays the Nielsen tracks like he owns them--superb vocals and his amazing guitars. Produced with Rundgren there's plenty of perfection and soaring. Most everyone who rocks knows most of Derringer's history, but new kids need this stuff--my son respects some of my favorites, but he really likes this one. So, as I started with--print more copies! This record is HOT!

5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect rock and roll album, October 12, 2001
This review is from: Guitars & Women (Audio CD)
GUITARS AND WOMEN changed my life when it came out in the 1979. In addition to me discovering all of Rick Derringer's music, I was amazed at how perfect each of the songs and production, plus the album's pacing was. The vibe of the album is similar to what all the hair bands were striving to achieve through the early '90s. Mellow and hard rock songs of love and music are featured throughout GUITARS AND WOMEN.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guitars & Women Is Arguably Rick Derringer's Most Enduring Album, April 30, 2009
This review is from: Guitars & Women (Audio CD)
I've listened to Rick Derringer ever since the beginning and he has always brought a special level of energy and artistry to every creative endeavor.

There is, however, something very special about "Guitars and Women" ...For, this effort has more memorable melodies than all of his other albums combined. But, that shouldn't be surprising, as this album was produced by none other than Todd Rundgren. Todd is a musical genius, who leaves his creative mark on everything he touches ...And, it's rather obvious when you think about it ..."Something Warm" and "Guitars & Women" (just to name two) sound like they're right out a Utopia songlist. This is a perfect marriage that I wish we could've witnessed more of. Derringer & Rundgren ...Awesomely, Awesome!

4.0 out of 5 stars Rick Derringer Guitars And Women, November 28, 2008
This review is from: Guitars & Women (Audio CD)
This bloke is an unsung hero. A guitar virtuoso, I heard 'All American Boy', Ricks first solo album, and was hooked. Great songs, a great cast of musicians, and a brilliant album. This one, Guitars And Women, is equally as good as his first. Once again the band is solid, 'Something Warm' is one of those HIDDEN GEMS, and Ricks remake of 'Don't Ever Say Goodbye' outdoes the original by a mile. It's a shame that this bloke never made it in the MAINSTREAM big time, like he deserved, but I take a certain pride in introducing friends to a little known musician who made some great albums back in the 70s and was a fantastic AXEMAN.

5.0 out of 5 stars Donnie Kisselbach's tracks culled from 'Face to Face', March 9, 1999

This review is from: Guitars & Women (Audio CD)
Runaway and Let The Music Play, which were originally the two outstanding tracks on 1980's Face to Face, are included here as bonus tracks. These collaborations with his (then) bassist Donnie Kisselbach are among Rick's finest ever.

3.0 out of 5 stars a classic for any Rick Derringer fan, March 3, 1999

Some really good songs, some fluff. If you like Derringer, you'll like this album. Some songs were written by Rick Neilson from Cheap Trick. Derringer fans have been waiting for this to come out on CD for a long time.

4.0 out of 5 stars My thoughts, February 29, 2004

I first heard this on the radio in the late 70's, and really liked the title song. I only recently found it at the store and bought it in the used section. It seemed to me that Derringer and producer Todd Rundgren were trying to cover all the popular styles of the time, so it is rather dated, but the title track is still cool in my book!
