Product Description

Best way to diffuse the co2 into planted tanks. There is no co2 loss in this system. Inside the reactor, the co2 bubbles are broken down constantly until they´re completely dissolved into the water. When using regular (ceramic plates) diffusers, there is loss when the co2 bubbles reach the water surface.

The reactor works great.
aigomorla
The hose input and output leaks, the bottom screw on access point leaks and overall this is a cheaply made crappy product.
BadAzteK
Much better than the 7up look of a traditional diffuser though and sits on the back of the tank out of view.

The reactor works great.

Takes time for reactor chamber to fill and to get a efficiency point.

Had problems with the 90 degree adapter which came with it.
Problem was no matter what i did it would leak.

Avoid the 90 degree attachment and you should be golden.

I am using a SunSun Canister Filter with a Inline heater attached to it.
It takes 5/8ID tubing fine with the green adapters..

Once again AVOID the 90 degree accessory.

Used the glass diffusers at first when I setup my Co2 system. Felt like it wasn't getting diffused well. Tried this out and it only puts out clear water, have seen no bubbles what so ever, which makes me believe that the Co2 is being diffused at or very near 100%. works great for my setup. 50 gallon long.

Id suggest picking up http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018WVNXC/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_45 if you don't have or want to rout it through you filter output, works great just picked up some clear hose from the local hardware store, and screwed the sizing adapter I needed on the pump.

I have been using an inline defuser / reactor but I didn't like the high pressure and the cloud effect I would get when it was on my return line. I tried it on my suction line of a 306 Fluval, it would collect in the filter then bubble out every 30 seconds or so, I just didn't like it so I decided to give this style a try.

I have read reviews about how well it mixed CO2 into the water and I agree 100% it is amazing! I only get a few very very small bubbles in the tank and there is almost 0 pressure on my CO2 regulator. I read some people complain about noise, sorry but I don't hear anything, very quite. Some people have complained about air in the system during set up, I found a very easy way to get rid of the air that is not in the instructions, just pull the CO2 line off and vent the air while it is running, but it isn't collecting CO2 either. The one complaint that is justified - it leaks from the supplied fittings. But this too is an easy fix, go buy a tube of clear RTV and use it on the joints of the fittings you are going to use, make sure to let it sit for 24 hours then attach your hoses.

I cannot recommend this enough, very pleased, if the suppled fittings didn't leak I would give it 5 stars.

system - 60 gal tank, 8 gal drip filter, 306 fluval, CO2 rate 3bps / 30-35ppm, and heavily planted.

I got this reactor so that I could avoid using a glass diffuser(to be more efficient) or injecting into the intake(to avoid damaging seals), but now I get a ton of micro bubbles. Not a bad thing, just not aesthetically pleasing to have my tank look like its filled with soda. It seems more efficient, but time will tell and I will update later down the road with more details on that.

The thing is noisy. It makes a constant swishing sound as the proppeller is moved around by the water flow and once it fills up with some co2 its even more noticeable. This was not something I expected either, but with some DIY sound shielding I can probably get the noise to an acceptable level.

Overall its s solid "budget" reactor if you don't want to put one together from Home Depot or Lowes. I do want to note the reactor is two parts and when you screw them together, they have to be tightened heavily as mine was originally leaking. Some plumbers tape and force got it together. Took 2 stars off for noise, micro bubbles, spotty seals and general "cheap" plastic feel.

After trying different glass CO2 diffuser, I gave this a try, and I couldn't be happier. You are able to hook it up to a canister filter intake, but I dislike hooking things up to it since it could hurt the flow rate. Instead, I connected the outflow of a powerhead I have running a surface skimmer and the setup works perfectly.

I haven't noticed any CO2 leave the reactor in bubble form, so it does a very good job diffusing all your CO2, so no waste when bubbles hit the surface of the water.

It runs great, looks good hanging outside of the tank. The adapters are garbage though, the could so much of a flood. The elbows are no good. I simply hooked up my eheim tube to the reactor with just the little 1 cm adapters on the in and outflow. They are secure and aren't coming off anytime soon.

Shipping was nuts. Supposed to come may 15, it came the week of the 10th of April. Paid for the cheapest shipping. I think this is a great way to diffuse the co2

I think its a great product. I read numerous reviews on line about it that didn't give it glowing reviews because it seemed like it leaked or the impellers didn't turn. I did a DYI diffuser from PVC and its more expensive to do, for the price this works really well and is so inexpensive compared to DYI, even with some simple mods I did to prevent leaks. This is so much better than the atmoic diffuser I used to use. I feel like i wasted a lot of CO2 with that diffuser, and they need to be cleaned every several weeks, and I had them break where the hose connects. Lastly the atmoic CO2 diffuser from GLA is expensive.

First i took it apart, and sanded the impeller shaft, it removed a plastic bur and the impellers were spinning easily. When I screwed the bottom back on I used teflon tape to ensure no leaking from the bottom, do that. I read reviews it leaked from the bottom, so teflon tape eliminates that. Other leak points are where the hoses attach. I used hose clamps to eliminate that problem.

The device comes with nice suction cups so I attached it to the back of my tank easily. I think this helps reduce problems with complaints it slowed down the flow, I noticed they kept it in the stand next to the filter. It will reduce flow, but nothing too terrible, I drive the large model on a 29 gallon tank with an Eheim 2213 canister filter. I read that some folks have issues with the impellers stopping moving, or it filling with gas, that happens because the flow from the canister might not be enough to drive the size reactor, or you are pumping in too much CO2. It takes a little playing around to get your bubble rate right. I have mine at about 1 per second and my plants pearl every night.
