5.0 out of 5 stars Gullah Gullah is Great
My 2-year old daughter is enchanted by the cast and characters of Gullah Gullah Island. We were sorry when the show disappeared from television and are glad to find videos here. My daughter and her 4-year-old-cousin agree on very few things, but both have Gullah Gullah at the top of their request list. The music, songs, and dance are very engaging. The characters...

1.0 out of 5 stars A Big No-No!
I reccomended this movie to help my younger sisters stop fighting. It didn't help because it showed two cousins named Vanessa and Shaina who were fighting in the first episode and the girls thought they were role-models. Vanessa kept saying that Shaina was copying her when she really wasn't. Anyway, the girls tried to divide the room to show each other which side of...

The characters are very appealing and have a certain sweetness that is not often in today's children's videos.

5.0 out of 5 stars Re: From the back cover:, November 3, 2005
This review is from: Gullah Gullah Island Christmas [VHS] (VHS Tape)
It's Christmas Eve, and Gullah Gullah Island is covered with...snow! The yard is busy with elves. And look - here comes Mrs. Claus. Has Gullah Gullah Island turned into the North Pole or is Shaina just dreaming of a white Christmas? Climb aboard the sleigh because we're off for a merry, music-filled holiday visit with the Alstons, Binyah-Binyah Polliwog, and all of their family and friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Binyah's Surprise (VHS), May 30, 2009
This review is from: Binyah's Surprise [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I accidentally saw the Gullah Gullah Island - Binyah series VHS tapes in Toys R Us years ago. When I noticed the African Americans on the cover I immediately bought them for my Granddaughter. She loved all of the VHS tapes, coloring books as well as sticker books that had anything to do with Binyah Binyah and the Daise family. I would like to say we watched the videos hundreds of hours for many years. I would like to find this series in DVD format if possible to give as gifts to friends of ours who are grandparents. If I could contact the Daise family that would be great as well. Really, really enjoyed these products. Carolyn Davis, MassachussettsBinyah's Surprise [VHS]

A Kid's Review
I reccomended this movie to help my younger sisters stop fighting. It didn't help because it showed two cousins named Vanessa and Shaina who were fighting in the first episode and the girls thought they were role-models. Vanessa kept saying that Shaina was copying her when she really wasn't. Anyway, the girls tried to divide the room to show each other which side of the room belonged to who. In like just a half hour later, Vanessa packs all her toys and favorite things and moves to the garage. The second episode about Binyah Binyah's parade was not a problem. I don't know what happened then, but I still do not reccomend this video to kids who are three up to the end of kindergarten. We watched this movie up until the ages of nine, eight, and seven years old and then we got rid of it, thank goodness!
