Unfortunately, there is a second thing you should know. The brilliant concept of this device is marred by poor, sometimes perplexing, design. The clock itself cannot be plugged into a wall outlet; it requires 4 AA batteries. I recommend buying rechargeables for this motorized monster, because it eats through a new set of batteries every few weeks. The customizable alarm's recording time is capped at a pitiful 6 seconds. The button layout is needlessly awkward - the button for setting the alarm time is dangerously close to the button for erasing the alarm recording, which incidentally is the only button that doesn't make an irritating noise every time you press it.
Yet, despite its host of problems, I think this clock is great. It's the bee's knees. So go ahead and buy it anyway; you probably won't regret it!
I bought this fir my brother in law for his birthday (27 and firearm lover). I got it and set it up and was so entertained that there was a recordable voice function. The gun itself not only makes a shooting noise but actually cocks back and forth every time you pull the trigger.
Yes it's battery operated. It's good and bad but not the end of the world. Being battery powered allows you to move it anywhere around the room or your home for "practice". Of course i wouldn't trust and alarm to wake me up daily if it was battery powered but who cares. Use your phone as a back up.
The directions are very clear and easy to follow for set up. It CLEARLY stated that the gun only snoozes the alarm. To turn it off you must hold down a button to turn off the alarm mode. It also gives you instructions for game modes as well.
He had only had it for 12 hrs and has read the instructions completely and according to my sister had yet to stop playing with it.
The alarm is a fun gift but not some amazing alarm clock. It is a game basically that has an alarm function. I think it was am excellent purchase and have to admit i probably will buy several more for more if my family. He was like a kid in a candy store when i handed him the toy firearm. It's hilarious
Problem #2 is that this only takes batteries; doesn't plug in. You'll need to change the batteries every couple of weeks.
Took about 1 minute for the novelty to wear off because there is zero challenge level.
