I got this Elmo for Serenity after seeing how much she enjoyed watching Elmo's World. She loved him right away and hugged him tight while watching Elmo on TV.

I guess he doesn't really have much educational value, other than the fact she recognizes him from Sesame Street. But she does play pretend with him and talks to him, so I would say that the imagination value is equal to the educational value.

Gund makes the best plush animals, and we have several from Sesame Street. I'll be adding more to Serenity's collection when I get the chance. Right now we have Big Bird, Abby Cadabby, Zoe Ballerina, Grover, and of course Elmo! All of them are wonderfully detailed, soft and perfectly cuddly for toddlers. Big Bird and Grover are the "new larger size" like Elmo.

I would definitely recommend this Elmo for toddlers. Toddlers need that perfect friend who will cuddle and listen while they talk and to go on fantastic imaginable adventures!

my daughter loves elmo, so when she outgrew her 13in elmo and was discouraged by the loud, hard, and not sleep friendly elmo toys that she already had. so after a few restless nights we got her this and she hasnt been happier.

ITS PERFECT. no noise, just soft lovable and the perfect toddler size to go everywhere. in the car, to bed, to play, on a walk he never leaves her side.

we look forward to adding more sesame street characters to her collection as well.

This elmo is much bigger than the 13 inch gund elmo. The 13 inch one I thought was very small. This one is just right in size for my 14 month old daughter. She loves it. It isn't as soft as the 13 inch one, but it's very cute! His fur doesn't look like the fur in the picture.

Long story short, if you're looking for a regular plush Elmo that doesn't live, breath, talk, dance, tell jokes or make annoying noise that requires a billion batteries, this is pretty much the ONLY one you will find. And luckily it's pretty well made. It's durable, shaggy, and very cute...the little one loves it! Save money (and sanity) by picking one of these up. MUST have for Elmo fans.

What more can you say? Soft, fluffy, cuddly and my little girl's favorite. Helps heal boo-boos and dry tears. Keeps her company in the car and at home. No noise, no muss, no fuss. An adorable classic toy.

This was the 3rd Gund elmo toy we bought for our 20 month old daughter. We have had the same problem each time - the plastic eyes shatter, leaving small pieces she can choke on as well as sharp edges on the toy. My daughter is a toddler, and as can be expected she throws her toys around, tosses them out of the crib, or off the couch, etc. This is normal toddler behavior and I would expect that a toy that is marketed for small children could withstand this type of activity. To be clear, she's not throwing the toy off a building, from a moving car, etc. Just regular toddler type of playing that has now led to shattered eyes 3 times. Luckily, we've caught it right away so there have been no injuries. I have actually never written a review before although I purchase from Amazon weekly. but I am so annoyed at this experience that I had to post. Not to mention how upset my daughter has become when we have to take her Elmo away. I am now on a search for a different Elmo.

This is a nice huggable, crib-able Elmo that's a good size for many children. It is 15" from tip to toes, though just barely, and is a little skinny - they should feed him more! We don't mind the hard plastic eyes, though I'm not sure the mouth needs to be so hard - it seems to have some kind of cardboard underneath.

It's not the softest toy we have - I think the Jellycat Bunglie toys have that distinction - but it is soft enough.

Just an FYI - We ordered ours from Huggable Teddy Bear (fulfilled by Amazon), and it arrived without any bag or wrapper around it, so the nose was a little dirty and fur a little worn. I suppose it doesn't matter since it would look that way after one day anyway, but I'm glad it wasn't for a gift. Though that's not Elmo's fault, so I haven't lowered the rating for that.

We ordered this as a birthday present for my son's 2 year bday. It was shipped quickly and the company even wrapped it in red tissue paper.
When my son opened the box he was so excited! He gave Elmo a big hug and kiss and then played with Elmo for over an hour. He used the tissue paper as Elmo's "blanket" and the box as his "bed" and kept saying Night night to Elmo.
I am sure we will get alot of use from this toy. He is well made, soft and the perfect size for a toddler to tote around. My six year old wanted to play with it too!
I hope Gund makes a similar cookie monster, we will order that next!

It's a decent enough plush toy. I can't say stuffed toys are meant to be terribly educational, hence the low rating under educational value. The only thing I don't like, and which I tried to avoid without success, is the fact that the toy's eyes are hard plastic, not stuffed fabric. It would be nice if the product descriptions would include information such as this. My daughter is an Elmo fan and this one seemed to be the best blend of quality, based upon other reviews, and price.

It's a great doll, soft and fluffy and perfect for any kid that's obsessed with Elmo.
