This review is from: Gundam 00F Manga Volume 1 (Paperback)
Gundam 00F is a side story for the Gundam 00 series and is pretty good. Chances are if you enjoyed the Gundam 00 you would enjoy this.
The story follows the secret support group Freshete which supports Celestial Being without their knowledge, using the second generation Gundams and the original Solar Reactor to carry out their missions. The main character is mobile suit pilot Fon Spaak, a criminal who was forced into piloting for Freshete and controlled through the threat of a small bomb kept around his neck. Though he is a criminal and doesn't believe in the ideals of Celestial Being he does take great amusement from their actions because they interest him. The story also gives a few additional insights into the mobile suits and politics of the Gundam 00 world. However if I did have one complaint its how the writer crammed so much into one book. The first volume covers almost the entirety of season 1, highlighting several Freshete only missions, and several missions Freshete directly supported Celestial Being. It covers so much because it cuts down on the mobile suit battle scenes, limiting them to a few pages for each battle. Even then Fon Spaak mostly observes and supports and does very little during the actual fighting. The most fighting he is seen doing is during the last battle when he is fighting against Team Trinity to prevent them from taking Freshete's only solar reactor, and that was cut short by Team Trinity detonating the bomb around Fon's neck. Fon Spaak survives however he is in critical condition with fellow Freshete member Hanayo taking him to be treated by a doctor aboard the Ptolemy. So perhaps those of you who watch Gundam solely for the action wouldn't enjoy this. Those who watch Gundam for the whole story would.
