4.0 out of 5 stars bulky and repetitive... cool shield though
This is a decent model and some parts of the plastic have a very nice feel to it. The material is also very thick like the PG series, which is good. What I liked best about this gundam is the shield, which is probably the best looking part of the whole kit. It has a lot of details and color variation and feels and looks like something you would get from an action...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not for little kids...
It's very bulky and contains hundreds of parts to assemble. Certainly not for little kids, if I remind you. One serious problem with GP-02 is that it has very loose shoulder-to-torso joint, so the arms will fall of constantly. If you have some skill you might want to modify the shoulder joint area.

What I liked best about this gundam is the shield, which is probably the best looking part of the whole kit. It has a lot of details and color variation and feels and looks like something you would get from an action figure. The downside is that the arms are very weak and falls off very easily. There is also no way that it can hold up the shield without and modifications. At the price of $20.. I cant complain. Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible for the price!, August 8, 2005

This model is from Gundam 0083-stardust memory, the Gundam itself being referred to as "Physalis". First, as others have said repeatedly, this isn't a toy: it's a model kit. Though you can mess around with it for a while after it's been completed, it should largely be left on it's own as the plastic parts will likely wear out faster than most toys. Second, since this is a Master Grade kit, I expected a lot, but it's an early MG kit, so I lessened my expectations before I bought it. The price however was too good to pass up. My expectations changed while building it. It's a tremendously good buy and a model that can keep someone busy for hours, even if refinement isn't your goal. Just snapping pieces together takes quite some time. The hands don't seem to hold weapons very well, but the downsides (which are minimal) are sidelined for me since the price is soooo good. While this is not quite as pretty as the MG "Freedom Gundam", it is quite a testament of work and beats out in price some of the current High Grade model kits. Get it before they're gone or the blowout ends!

This model kit is awesome. Im a huge fan of the Master Grade series of Bandai. I have more than 30 Master Grades like this GP02A BUT...they have all been pricey. You know 30 + dollars each. And I found this great kit for a mere 10 dollars (the GP02A is a HUGE 1/100 Gundam with great dettail) and ... I couldn't believe it !!!

The box and other reviews say that you dont need to paint it to make it look good. Lies, it looks good anyway, but it looks like a toy if you dont paint it. At least buy a Gundam Marker and draw those panel lines...Make it look GREAT. It's such a great design to let it go to waste unpainted...

I recomend trying a smaller kit for painting first, after all, you dont wanna ruin this one...no matter the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREATEST KIT EVER!!!!!, July 6, 2005

I was very nervous about buying this model kit after all the bad reviews I heard about the arms falling off and it not being able to hold the bazooka. However, most of these things weren't true! The bazooka stays on great, he doesn't even have to hold part of it with his hand in order to keep it up (It's attached to the back of the shoulder.) The arms are just fine, they stay on incredibly well, just like the rest of the gundam's parts. I mean it, the parts stay on so well! The GP-01fb kit's core fighter wobbles too much and the hands don't hold the weapons well. The backpack is attached perfrectly to the back snd doesn't wobble, and it holds the beam sabres better. Unfortunately the shield is too heavy and wobbly to hold, but it still can store part of the bazooka. Every little detail is perfect, everything is the right color! The "wings" can fold out and reveal boosters for extra speed. the backpack holds the ammo for the bazooka. There is a little place to store the beam sabres, which is cool. Plus. the cockpit flops open so you can see the pilot. This model is great! $20 is a steal, so buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Large Model, August 1, 2005

This review is from: Gundam RX-78 GP02A E.F.S.F. Prototype Tactical Mobile Suit: Skill Level 8 (Toy)
This is a great model. Its very detailed and is a blast to assemble. Out of the box expect 3-6 hours for the average builder. There are very few parts that require painting to make look original. As is from Bandai this is a great model. only downside to it is that the large boozoka wielding shield is to large for the arm to support by itself. You can get it to rest on the leg but it doesnt rest very well. Overall I highly recomend the purchase of this model to add to your collection. For the price its done nicely.

The overall apperance of the model is good. There are a few palces whaer the datial could be better. The boozka dosen't fit really well on my model. Like I said the overall apperance is very good if you put the decals on and paint it. Even unpainted the model looks good.
