In my opinion this is not a toy. It's closer to a figure or a model. No assembly, painting, or decaling is required. The kit comes with a lot of accessories but the deep strike mode is definitely my favorite. Due to the large beam cannon above its right shoulder in deep strike mode it is a little side heavy and tends to sit a little skewed when on the stand that comes with the kit. Some of the pieces tend to fall off if your not careful but I am sure each kit is slightly different due to manufacturing tolerances. Considering the paint job was factory done its very good. Due to packaging and the plastic material there are some misc long items that are a little bent. Note however that the major long pieces like the large beam cannon is very well packaged to make sure it stays straight. For the most part this kit is for displaying. Every now and then I'll take it all apart and put it together to display a different mode. Its VERY cool!
I give it relatively high marks in the educational field because as most good mecha toys should it sparks creativity and an interest in technology. The durability of individual components is top notch but it tends to fall apart when you put it all together as mentioned above. |
