5.0 out of 5 stars PG Red Astray, January 5, 2010
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Gundam MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame PG 1/60 Scale (Toy)
One of the newer and more expensive Gundam perfect grades. The mold is the same as the PG Strike, with a few differences. The feet of the model have rubber parts so that the legs won't slide as easily when you put it into poses. It comes with a metal coated katana, alone with other various weapons. The head of the gundam lights up, battery not included. There are no wires for the LED, it connects straight to the battery.
This gundam is very posable, and being a perfect grade is very detailed and fun to build. The fingers are individually jointed and painting is not required. Requires about a week to build, but if you want to paint it and detail it, it might take over a month. Not for beginners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome PG, March 5, 2011
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Gundam MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame PG 1/60 Scale (Toy)
Finished putting together my Pg Astray. By far it is one of the more durable and sturdy of the pgs out there. The design of teh kit gives it good balance and no part is overly heavy to weigh down in posing. The inner frame is exposed more on this kit than any other PG out there which is a plus for me because i like to customize and painted the interior a shiney gold and the armor black. I like the weapons too. As much as i enjoyed the GN Sword III on the PG 00 Raiser it was a heavy bit of equipment. The sword on the Astray is just right and i love the design of it. I wish they would have put two in there with it instead of one though. You can get the special kit that has two and clear parts but it tends to run a bit higher. Over all this is one awesome kit and if you love putting Gunpla together its a must have!

Having built a few Pefect Grade (PG) kits I can tell you that this is one of the best.
This is a no frills (besides a giant chrome katana) kit. No giant wings, no weapons everywhere. However the kit has amazing detail; both the normal PG inner frame that comes with all the newer PGs and the fantastic astray armor bits. The head lights up like all PGs (batteries not included) and the detail here is amazing.

Pros:
1. For those who like Gundam Seed but like a simple look (like the strike with no attachments).
2. The Best looking gundam head of any kit I've seen.
3. KATANA. Gundam sized katana. You will love the assembly of this weapon!
4. Could be painted to represent any of the initial Astray variants (red, blue, green, gold, mirage)

Cons:
Few parts break easy. I've broken the shield attachment which was really disappointing as the shield is amazing.
The light up eye is in the center of the head, this makes it light weird. I fixed this by painting black inside the head and then chroming the inside.
Colors: the red color of the frame and armor pieces are boring. This kit needs to be painted. I recommend a titanium finish for the red armor and a darker red frame to really bring out some life in the colorset.

Dispite the fact that the Red Astray wasn't in a major gundam series this is a fantastic kit. Buy this if you are a seed fan, the manga fan, a gunpla PG fan or if you just love the non-winged simple gundams.

Great kit, lots of fun, even for a beginner with half a brain. Complex, but not difficult to build. Looks great without any painting, but def should at least panel line it.

Well, to start off, this is not a toy, it is a model and is not meant to be played with, so parents, I just wanted to put that here so you dont get confused about it.

Anyway, on to my review, the model is a perfect grade, and the name fits wonderfully, I had no issues, no broken parts, it was delivered on time, and I was satisfied with the amount of time it took me to build it from start to finish.

All in all, I was, and still am very happy with the product.
