I have had some bad experiences with the smaller master and high-grade Gundam models from Bandai. In their efforts to make those models easy to build, the figures are sometimes more frustrating for the skilled modeler to build. This Perfect Grade model of Wing Gundam Zero is an entirely different animal. Even though the figure still depends to a degree on the Bandai style construction, considerable effort has been made to give it a solid, precision feel.Of course, this comes at a price. There are 670 pieces on 30 runners. Many locations use metal screws for firmer control. About 30 locations secured by metal screws. Metal is used in the 14 individual 'feathers' of the wings and in joints as well. The detail under the armor is even better than the exterior detail. Lots of opening panels, lights, and individually articulated hands. Locking systems prevent a lot of the flopping about that the smaller figures do. Be prepared to work through Japanese manuals though, but the diagrams are excellent. All of this adds up do a model that requires an experienced builder's hand. If the builder likes to do a lot of detailing and customization (and who would not with something like this) then this could be an extensive major project. Even a careful simple build should take 20 to 40 hours. This is a truly fine model. Given the scarcity of the kit, well-built specimens will be collector's items almost immediately.

This model is awesome! I collect Gundam models for a hobby, and this one was a challange even for me after over 25 other models. It's extremely challenging to built it (And get it right). The wiring for the chest and head is a nice touch, and the cast metal parts and tough plastic type make it extremley durable. Want proof? Mine's been knocked down (by the kids) from it's six-foot perch multiple time, and it barely has a scratch on it. Probably the most fun you'll have with this model is building the endoskeleton. I was amazed by the material variation in this model. Most models are cast in cheap plastic, and you have to paint most of it yourself. the Wing Zero Custom PG is cast in iron, at least three types of the toughest plastic I've ever seen in a model, and rubbr among other things. At this point in the reveiw, you're probably realizing that this isn't a toy. This thing is for people who like to display their work, not play with it. Even with the tough frame, it's rather heavy and wobbley, and the hip joints often come loose (though easily repaired). So this isn't for the youngin's. If you love models and Gundam, any PG model is a must for your collection. The price on this site is also excellent, and PG models ARE RARE IN AMERICA AND NOT CARRIED IN TOYS'R'US. Amazon is offering a rare opportunity, you can't go wrong here.

Bandai's best model is finally here. The perfect grade Wing Zero Custom, The Endless Waltz Series. There are lists of details. Heres the important stuff: Here we go! 30 plus runners of parts (670 total pieces). About 30 locations secured by metal screws. Two different locations light up on the finished kit (eyes and chest). Full inner mechanism detail on all limbs. Opening panels on the head, chest and more. Fingers are individually-jointed. Comes with two beam sabers and two huge beam rifles. Locking systems provide stability so things don't flap around like they do on the Master Grade kit. Comes boxed in three separate inner boxes plus a special box that contains the 14 individual "feathers" made from plastic coated thin metal plus the metal joint parts, screws and other goodies. Two separate manuals are included. The first, the INSTRUCTION manual (Japanese Text only) has numerous photos of the kit in various construction steps plus painting guide, history of the unit and the Battle Zero unit, cross sections and an interview with the designer of the kit. The second, the CONSTRUCTION manual has the actual assembly instructions and details. No English text but the diagrams are self-explanatory. This is a very complex model kit. It is not recommended for beginner modelers.

If you're into Gundam Wing, this is for you! It's a model that is over a foot tall, lighted, and has many intricacies! If you're familliar with the 1/100 scale models, those were boot camp! The model has both plastic and metal pieces. It also has "Exo" and "Endo" parts. You basically start on a body part's frame, then the "Armour". It's so detailed, you can even see Heero in the cockpit! Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't recommed this for YOUNG kids, or for people who get frustrated easliy, but if you're up for the challenge, it's quite worth it!

If you have experience building Master Grade or other Perfect Grade Gundam kits (from BanDai,of course) then you're well prepared. Otherwise, get ready to put a lot of time and patience into building this awesome model kit. You'll need a screwdriver and a wire stripper to say the least. It was tough for me to rig up the lighting system for the eyes and chest, in which you need to wrap the wires around the conductors and bulbs yourself. You'll need watch batteries to power it, too. However, the end result is amazing. The kit is fairly durable, but design flaws make the wings come off easily when trying to pose the model, and the body is rear heavy, making it harder to pose than you would hope. But of course, it has those excellent features of a Perfect Grade Gundam, such as individually poseable fingers. Minimal painting is required to give it a decent level of detail; all you really really need is black to fill solid areas that weren't molded empty. Also, some parts can break, such as the kneecaps and wrists. Don't force anything. When you finally finish the foot tall kit, you'll (hopefully) be very proud of yourself. After all, it is very expensive and requires a lot of patience and skill to build.

this is the best gundam model ever. No other gundam is close to being this cool. I have built lots of gundams the past 2 years and this is the best. The wings and body are incredibaly detailed. But this is not for begginers you can probably tell by the price.you should have at least built a MG(master grade)model. But once you are ready for the big leagues this will complete your collection.Recommended for all experinced builders

Having built about two dozen Gundam kits of various Grades, I'd have to say this is the best one of them all! The amount of detail is staggering. From the metal endoskeleton to the feathers on the wings, everything has been created with such precision. Even the fingers are fully flexible, capable of any position. But, if you're not accustomed to spending time on a meticuluous project, steer clear! This defintitely takes patience and a degree of skill, but the end result is well worth it.

First, I would like to say that this is not a toy, so the durablity rating should not apply to this Perfect grade Wing Gundam Zero Custom. Heck, all gundam model kits are not toys. They are models built for posing and showing off to friends and family. Second, the educational value of this model kit is extremely high. The instructions are in Japanese, and there are over 600 plus parts. There are many steps to follow and there are very few people that can finish this project in less than 8 hours. Finally, the satisfaction of finishing a work of art in this model kit, it deserves more than five stars for the fun level. The eyes and chess glows and the skeleton like inner frame of this model is the Highlight of this model. The armor need little to no paint, but the initial blue parts doesn't match the one shown on the box. You might want to find some Gundam type blue spray paint at a hobby store to get the colors more accurate. This is the best perchase I've have made in awhile. Buy this model kit now before the price goes back up.

My boyfriend and I built this model together in less than a week. We only had a little time after work each day to spend on it, but the time was very well spent. The only tricky part was dealing with the tiny wires that make the head and chest light up, but we finally got them in and he lights up great! The instructions are extremely detailed and it takes little prior experience to put any of the parts together. The instructions are not in English, but the diagrams and symbols are easy enough to follow. It is important to understand that this is a MODEL, not a true action figure. We have had no trouble posing him because he is extremely flexible, but it is vital that he is not moved around too roughly or frequently. This model is a great way to spend some time. Tons of fun!! And i don't even think I have to mention that he looks SOOOOO COOOOL!! Worth every penny!
