side story....good enough to get?, December 21, 2004

If You have seen Gundam Seed, or have read the manga so far, I would advise that You take a look at the Astray universe...as the name implies, it is a little random in direction, but plentiful in information,as a lot of the loose ends in Gundam Seed are tied up here, and You can get a better look at the universe where this great series happen!
If You are a Gundam alumnis, such as myself, go for it, You won't be dissapointed.

Red, Blue, and Gold!, August 17, 2011

Gundam SEED Astray Volume 2 takes place right where Volume 1 left off with Lowe getting a new intern who's actually out to steal the Red Frame for herself! After having to save the very person trying to steal his M.S., and his M.S. itself, Lowe gets everything back in order and the Red Frame back into his hands. While on a mission in the debris field surrounding Earth, Lowe encounters a one-armed Gold Frame unit ready to do battle. Lowe barely escapes with his life (and Red Frame loses an arm as well) and the pilot of the Gold M.S. remains a mystery. Lowe and the gang crash-land on earth after the fight and end up at the Morgenroete Corporation where the spy trying to steal the Red Frame was really working for Morgenroete and gathering data for their M1 Astray Mass Production project. Lowe helps test an M1 Astray against his Red Frame and loses to the superior skills of the high-ranking soldier Rondo; who is also the pilot of the Gold Frame, unbeknownst to Lowe. After leaving the Morgenroete Corp. with his crew and one brand-spankin'-new Flight Pack for Red Frame, Lowe stumbles upon an epic battle between the Aile Strike Gundam and the Aegis Gundam and rescues an unconscious Kira Yamato after the battle subsides and takes him to Father Markio. But the Father seems to already know Kira...
There's also a bonus chapter that appeared in Shonen Jump where a pirate named Porsche and her crew try to steal a special dog that can pilot a BuCUE but soon learn that the dog can merely open the hatch and not pilot the M.S. itself and that the dog and his owner are guarded by Lowe Gear and his Gundam Astray Red Frame!
Overall, this second volume is just as neat as the first and really goes to show just how intertwined the Astray mangas are to the Gundam SEED series in that Lowe actually personally witnessed a battle straight from the T.V. series! There's lots of action and story involved and we get to see the Gerbera Straight in action once again! The art is drawn very well and detailed and the giant robots look absolutely amazing in the manga! This is one SEED side story you do not want to miss!
