4.0 out of 5 stars Great information for fans of Gundam Wing
Although a good deal of the information presented in the Gundam Wing Technical Manual is published in some form or another, no other source has it all so nicey compiled as this book. 3.0 out of 5 stars An Endless Dance in Three-Four Time
Adapted from the movie sequel to the Gundam Wing TV series, TOKYOPOP's now-defunct manga version of Endless Waltz was written and illustrated by Koichi Tokita. For those that don't know, or don't remember, the year is After Colony 196: after almost a year of bloody war, the Gundam pilots-five young but highly-trained soldiers-have brought forth peace between planet Earth...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great information for fans of Gundam Wing, May 12, 2002

(REAL NAME)
Although a good deal of the information presented in the Gundam Wing Technical Manual is published in some form or another, no other source has it all so nicey compiled as this book. However, don't go thinking you've seen all of this before. While some of the stats and armaments of the Gundams are well known, the manual presents some lesser-known details about the Gundam Wing timeline and the physics behind the machines.

The first section of the book presents stats on each mobile suit in full color while presenting some details about important events. The last section of the book is in black and white and presents a detailed timeline and information on the characters and other technology, such as the space colonies, that populate Gundam Wing. My one complaint would be the small size of the book. While the pocket-size is easy to carry, it would be nice to have larger versions of the contained illustrations. Fans of Gundam Wing, old or new, should own this great resource book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-have for Gundam fans, September 22, 2002

This review is from: Gundam Technical Manual #3: Stardust Memories (Paperback)
Of the first three Gundam Technical Manuals, this is by far the best- not only does it include information on the mobile suits, mobile armors, and vehicles from Gundam 0083, but it also has info on 08th MS Team, Gundam 0080, and Mobile Suit Gundam as well! There's even a detailed history/timeline section following the Universal Century continuity up to the era of Zeta Gundam. Highly, highly recommended!!

JEB (Laurel, MD United States) - See all my reviews
Not only does this excellent book give details on the mobile suits, mobile armor, vehicles, characters, and technology featured in the 08th MS Team series, it also puts all of this in the context of Mobile Suit Gundam, the series that these events take place in the midst of. A good buy for any MS Gundam fan.

This manual is highly detailed, and has all the information of the One Year War.
I bought this book in 2008, and I was very satisfied with the amount of info it had and the mobile suit and character illustrations were clear and detailed.
When I recieved it, it was in excellent condition and shipped quickly.
Any fan of the Universal Century timeline, I reccomend it to with confidence.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as the movie, July 19, 2008
"Gundam wing: Endless Waltz" is an addition to the "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing" Series. Endless waltz is based a few years after the end of the series, when peace has finally been found. However soon a new treat arises and the peace that holds the world & the space colonies is threatened. The gundams must once again rise to the occasion and fight one more time.

"History is like an endless, the 3 beats of war, peace, & revolution are never ending"

This book is based off the 3 episode anime. If you loved Endless Waltz, here is a version you can take with you anywhere and relive the moments at anytime.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, June 4, 2003
By
I think that Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz was a wonderful book overall, but it wasn't without flaws. The history and storyline is actually a very cleverly written one. The date is 195 AC (After Colony). It is some time in the future when the earth has been separated into two groups: those who still live on the earth and those who live in space colonies that float in space. Since it is an extremely futuristic setting, there are robots everywhere, including the five Gundams, war machines used to keep the peace. This series of Gundam Wing documents the history of the Gundams, and this particular book marks the fateful day when the pilots decide to retire them. Long story short, just as the pilots are in the process of sending their war machines to the sun for destruction, a little girl with too much money starts a war and they are forced to take back the Gundams one last time. I won't say the ending though, because it would defeat the purpose of the reading the book.

There are many pros and cons to this book. Firstly, the drawings are absolutely wonderful, and that is a double-edged sword. Unlike the cartoon, the pictures are not moving, and since this is an action based manga, it lacks the excitement that the cartoon would have, but on the contrary, sometimes the cartoon moves too fast, and this book enables one to marvel at the pictures if they wish to do so. Another obvious yet noticeable thing that is missing is music, but that's because it's a book. The story also seems to start and end rather quickly, but that's also a good thing because it means that you don't have to sit through a show every time you want to see Gundam Wing. All in all, this book lacks the excitement and drama that the cartoon has, but is still worth buying if you're a fan of Gundam Wing.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Ride, February 14, 2003
By
Wallin (Hernando, MS United States) - See all my reviews
The graphic novel form of 'Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz' (arguably one of the best Gundam movies out), of course, suffers a bit in the transition from film to paper, but the plot itself stays pretty much on course. The politics and references themselves might blow over the heads of those who have never seen the original anime (which is highly recommended), but it isn't impossible to grasp. The characters are fun as always to view, from Heero's complexities to the new riddle of Mariemaia (who unfortunately doesn't get the time to develop as a character as one might hope), and it is relatively easy to see their interactions with one another as solid relationships.

Perhaps my only dislike in this graphic novel is the art itself: for some reason, it strikes me as dull. The characters appear flat and choppy at times, while overly cartoony in others, which is distracting from the story (on the other hand, the Mobile Suits and the Gundams - enormously large robots for the uninformed - are very pleasing to look at). I found it to be lacking in aesthetics as compared to 'Blind Target' (one of the 'transition' manga covering the time period between the series and the movie; it's art is the most faithful to the anime) or 'Ground Zero' (which is simply beautiful on its own), but this isn't as important a factor as I might make it sound. More like a pet peeve.

Overall, I give it a rating of four stars, for sticking close to the original plot and being an enjoyable read. The actual movie and, of course, the anime itself are strongly recommended for viewing before reading, though, as it only adds to the experience.
