4.0 out of 5 stars Good value, but...
I just bought one of these a few days ago. It's fun to build and detailed. Few complaints though. After I built it the joints became a little loose. I'm not sure if this was the kit or because I did something wrong, or what. Also, it's not very durable and some parts look ready to break. Other than that, it's very cool looking (when the arms, legs, and head aren't...

I just bought one of these a few days ago. It's fun to build and detailed. Few complaints though. After I built it the joints became a little loose. I'm not sure if this was the kit or because I did something wrong, or what. Also, it's not very durable and some parts look ready to break. Other than that, it's very cool looking (when the arms, legs, and head aren't flopping around) and would be fun to play with and display if not for the joint and small parts problems. If it were up to me, I'd spend a bit more and buy the Endless Waltz 1/144 Heavyarms Custom (which I plan to do soon). The Endless Waltz version is much cooler looking and is alot more detailed. I have an Endless Waltz Serpent Custom and it is very detailed and sturdy. If you're looking for value, buy this one. If you want durability and detail, buy the Endless Waltz version.

(this review is meant for parents with pre-teens)- If your considering buying your kid a gundam model, this or gundam sandrock are the ones to go for. I say this because heavyarms is of excellant quality, it takes under an hour to build, instructios are clear and easy to read, it looks great on the shelf with or without paint(mine is not yet painted although it is on display), it dosen't require glue wether you play with it or not, and its only ...!oh, did I mention, these toys are super durable. I say this because heavyarms has taken a dive of my desk more than once resuting in little or no damage to the model. (this model is great for beginers-take my advice on all of this. I am 13 and this was my first kit(i have 5 others). I have been a model car, train, plane and gundam enthusiast for 3 years). so what are you waiting for? Click yes at the bottom of the page, and buy a heavyarms or sandrock for your aspiring or expeirenced modeler!!!

this model of heavy-arms is very good. it's perfect for beginners. i got it for my friend, it ended up it was his first one. he put it together with ease in about 45 minutes. it also teaches some motor skills, hand eye cordination. my friend also dropped it on the concrete floor a few times and had barly no damage. so, you can get this model or not, but it is the best model of gundams.

Gundam Heavyarms is totally awesome. It comes with the gatling gun on his arm,his chest opens to reveal two more gatling guns,he's got shoulder missiles and when all out ammunition, there is a retractable knife on it's right arm.If you watch gundam wing on t.v.you'll love this model.Although some hate painting it'll need it if you want it to look as it does in the show. You'll definetely want to paint the chest machine guns and the knife though but dark grey and silver will work fine.I myself painted every thing I thought needed to be painted, but I suggest buying a fine tip brush for those small parts.I hope this review was helpful and I suggest you buy heavyarms right know.

Wow. This is the first non-automobile model I've built. I'm impressed with the designs of the joints and how the whole thing fits together. The istructions are written in Japanese, however (the numbering of the parts is in English) so if your Nihongo isn't up to par it may be a bit more difficult. More durable than car models and was a whole lot of fun to do. I'd recommend this to someone who likes the Gundam series or is wanting to try something new. Take care when putting the chest plate on when you get that far. I can see how it would be easy to break. I might just hang this one from my rearview.

5.0 out of 5 stars The walking machine gun surpasses all!, April 28, 2001

This model is definately one of the best in the 1/144 Gundam Wing series- Its very durable and dosn't have any loose or flimsy joints, plus, it looks good good GOOD on display. However, this gundam requires a LOT of intricate painting ( i.e the blue chevrons on the chest and detail on the twin gatling guns.) to bring it up to a decent standard, so it may not be the best choice for a beginner. * note to all beginner modellers out there: Try not to construct your favouite Gundam first, as you will want to hone your painting skills for a while beforehand so you won't run the risk of messing said Gundam up *

4.0 out of 5 stars Gundam Heavyarms, November 17, 2000

The gundam Heavyarms is a great toy, Although this one requires some paint. As I've said in my other reviews, you can go to any hobby shop, and buy those really cheap, small model paints, and your all set. This gundam only needs grey, and silver model paint, and a steady hand. Adding grey model paint on the chest gatlings, and the shoulder missles, and silver model paint on the knife on its right wrist. Anyways, building it wasn't to complicated,(exept for the retractible knife) and the durability is so-so. All in all a good models that, as long as you don't do anything stupid, like steppong on it, will last you.

Heavyarms is a machine gun robot. He is very strong and I like his pilot. He has 3 machine guns. He can fly too. I have been building Gundams for about 2 months. They are really fun to build. But you can't really play with them. There's still more that I need but I know some day I'll get them all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gundam Heavyarms Rocks!, April 18, 2001

Basically Gundam Heavyarms is one of the best models! The only problem with this gundam is the lack of stickers and coloration. Eventhough painting is'nt required I recommend that you paint it otherwise, the gundam wont look the same as seen on television. (people usually want it to look that way!) For those people who cannot keep the gundams limbs intact I suggest that you put little pieces of paper in the little grey joints and put the limbs back on so they can tighten up abit for it to last longer. Also as long as the paint is concerned try to take your models appendages off if its built(at least take the arms, legs, torso, and head) but if its not built yet and still in the frames thats the best time to paint. NOTE: Use different sizes of paint brush

This Heavyarms model is a good model, but it is unbelievably easy to build. But this model needs a ... of painting, and the head is really wobbly on mine. If you're board as heck, then that would be a good time to buy this model.
