How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

The Ultimate Organizer

CalenGoo is a calendar app that automatically syncs with your Android calendar and Google Calendar. It is designed to make it easier and faster to work with your calendar on your phone. Four different calendar views (day, week, month, and agenda) give you a good overview of your upcoming events. To make rescheduling events easy, move or copy the events via drag-and-drop in the day, week, and month view.

Wrangle Your Appointment Calendar

After syncing with your calendar, CalenGoo offers a wide range of options to make your scheduling a breeze. Set active reminders with sounds, blink, vibrate, insist, and four different snooze times. Copy and send appointment dates and details via e-mail or SMS. Jump to any date to view that day's agenda. Zoom in on the monthly calendar, and use the same functions as Google Calendar for recurring events. Set up customizable hardware buttons, such as setting the "Today" function to your phone's back button. There is also a search feature to look up any keyword within your calendar appointments.

Widget Customizations

A very useful feature of CalenGoo is the option to set up widgets for the week, month, and agenda calendars. These colored widgets make it much easier to recognize your upcoming events without having to check into the events' details. Within the agenda calendar widget settings, for example, you can set time format, header time format, header font, entry font, background color, and background transparency. With CalenGoo, you'll always be on top of your schedule.

Note: This app requires a Google account.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my needs November 18, 2011

I purchased this to sync with my Google Calendar, which I've used on my desktop for years. I run 6 separate calendars for our very busy family and I can now see all of them on my Kindle Fire whether I have WiFi or not. I'm very happy with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Calendar App for Android October 25, 2011
By W. S.
I have tried several Calendar apps, and even abandoned my old steadfast PocketInformant for CalenGoo. I only wish I would have found this one first! While best for users who already rely on Google Calendar, this app syncs and updates Google Tasks and Google Calendar seamlessly and without issues and it has many customization options: colours, backgrounds, fonts -- you can even use Google's Icon set. One of the great benefits of Calengoo are the WIDGETS (numerous to choose from) and the ability to create recurring (and oddly recurring) tasks (great feature no one has!) and appointments/events. Need to schedule an appointment every 3 weeks on a Monday and Tuesday? You can do it in Calengoo. The screenshots don't live up to the simple and attractive look of the program; again ALL colours can be customised so you can spruce it up for the holidays if you're so inclined). Great job on this calendar.

(if you don't like Google Calendar - it works with the internal Android calendar as well)

4.0 out of 5 stars 'Best of' for Fire, but still with faults. April 21, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
This review is primarily for Kindle Fire (KF).

I have been using Google Calendar (gCal) for years, since the moment they put it out actually. I have come to love it for a variety of reasons. I don't do smart phones (for now) so the ability to use SMS for various gCal functions was what sold it to me. That is, until I got my KF.

Once I got my beloved Kindle Fire, this was one of the apps I specifically looked for, since I was already using gCal. SMS was great, but I felt this would be so much better. Happily I found that it is.

This pretty much has all the functions that the web version offers, but for KF this is essential for offline accessibility. Additional tablet features (that gCal doesn't have) offer a rich set of wonderful settings that are just too numerous to list here. That goes for Pros as well. There are too many pros to list so just suffice it to say, that pros are many and amazingly wonderful.

All that said, this loses a star for a couple of annoyances.

# Unlike the official Google web version, the day and week views do not display the end times of appointments, or events. This is essential. When I open the app, it's usually to schedule another appointment. I need to be able to see, in one fell swoop, what times I have open. I cannot fathom why it is written this way because it isn't like there isn't plenty of room for it, because there is more than enough room to add end times.

# There is no option to sync in the background. It does have a "force refresh" option on startup of the app, but most apps that have web sync options usually give you the option to sync X minutes, hours or times per day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic! February 2, 2013

This is what the Google calendar & tasks should be; particularly tasks. Google tasks are relatively lame not allowing categorization or prioritization. Okay, Google does allow multiple lists which in a way can be used to categorize tasks, but YOU CAN ONLY VIEW ONE LIST AT A TIME. Aaaarrrgh. Calengoo uses lists (like Google), but has multiple views that allow the lists to be viewed in a consecutive stream in Tasks or combined in the Agenda view. You can also choose whether to show all tasks in the various calendar views. AND you can prioritize tasks in a 1-5 format and they're displayed accordingly. Excellent implementation. So now my Google tasks and calendar are extremely usable on my Android phone and Android Kindle, but the implementation on my real laptop computer running Windows is still the same lame implementation of the native Google apps. Until i came across a program called Bluestack which I installed (free) on my laptop. Bluestack allows you to run your Android apps on a Windows based computer, so now I have the functionality of Calengoo on my Windows laptop - does it get any better?

1.0 out of 5 stars Keeps Force Closing on my Kindle Fire April 26, 2012

This app looked awesome, but ever since I set it up it continually locks up and asks if I want to Force Close or Wait. I want a refund.

Before my Kindle Fire arrived, I presumed I would be running Pocket Informant to manage my schedule. (Indeed, one of my main reasons for buying the Fire was to have a larger view of my calendar.) Although Pocket Informant is available for Android, it is incompataible with the Fire. (From webis support: "Since the Kindle Fire doesn't have a native Android calendar, PIA as it is will not work on that device. There has been some discussion about direct sync to Google in a future version for other reasons, but direct sync to Google will not be available until after v2.0 is released.")

CalenGoo came to the rescue. The synchronization is perfect. (If you use 2-step verification for your Google account, you will need to use an application-specific password. But if you use 2-step verification, you know this is no big deal.) Even the colors you use for your Google calendars are reproduced in CalenGoo. Several views are available, of which I find the "landscape day" and "agenda" views the most useful.

One side effect of the missing Android calendar on the Fire was that times in the "agenda" view would not display in 24-hour format. An email to the developer generated a prompt and helpful response. There was was a work-around in the next release, which was only a week later.

In summary: a great app with great support that address a major gap on the Kindle Fire. CalenGoo is worth every penny.
