these are specifically made for computer wear, although if you don't wear a gaming headset, I'd say you can choose either the gaming glasses or the computer eye wear. The arms of the eye glasses for the gaming glasses are flat which accommodate headsets better and won't press against your temple as much. I still do wear these while playing with a headset. Overall, great glasses that look awesome while reducing eye strain at the computer/TV.

Update 11/12: These Gunnars have been dropped many times. I've used them to play video games while sweating on my stationary bike. I've wiped them clean (cleaned lenses with glass cleaner, although probably not recommended) and still look very new and function just like when I first received them.

One of the reviewers mentioned that it is possible that someone is deleting negative comments, and I definitely think that might be true.

I have had these glasses for about a week now, and this is what I think of them:

Pros:
These glasses work as advertised. I work on computers at least 10 hours a day, and after using these glasses, there was a noticeable decrease in headache by the end of the day, and my eyes are not as red any more.

Cons:
$70 for the cheapest one???

The glasses sit really close to face and smudge really easy, and that ends up giving me headaches.

Build quality is very questionable. The frame bends easily.

No carrying case? The questionable frame demands a hard carrying case.

I use the computer for most of the day, and have suffered from dry and irritated eyes.
I've bought the Gunnar Optiks SheaDog (Onyx) a couple months ago.

When putting on the glasses for the first time, I hoped to feel a noticeable improvement in contrast and the slight magnification. But in practice, I don't feel that the glasses improve my vision noticeably.

However, after using them for several weeks, I can say that they do reduce eyestrain. I used to reach the end of the day with dry, red and burning eyes. Today by 3am my eyes are tired, but not red or burning, and I don't feel the need to stop and rub them.

Negative points:
The yellow tint was really annoying for about a week, but you get used to it eventually.

Optics-wise, the lenses aren't perfect. There is a noticeable reflection of light from the top and bottom parts of the lens, and they reflect the user's eyes as well (you see the world through a bright reflection of your own eyes). Bothersome when you pay attention to it, but can be ignored for most of the time.

By the way, while driving with the glasses, when you look at street lamps, you can clearly see the glare reduction. The light refraction also creates irritating blue dots. So there are clearly some advanced optics involved; these are't just yellow pieces of plastic.

Bottom line: Not a magic solution, and it doesn't solve 100% of eyestrain issues. The same lens technologies used to reduce harmful light can cause other irritations (tint, reflection of own eyes). Nevertheless, I DO choose to put these on each morning (and until each night) for the reduce in eyestrain.

Normally, I would be skeptical about the claim that these glasses can reduce computer eyestrain, but I saw these featured on Gizmodo where the author of article actually said that these worked. I suffered from eyestrain which would turn into headaches but I've had these glasses for about a week and I can honestly say they work. Not having the headaches makes the price worth it.

I bought them two days ago and I can tell the difference already, they don't weight anything.. you can barely know they there but you definitely going to notice the yellow tint, takes a little time to get used to but they actually reduce eyestrain, have a little zoom effect that helps you focus the screen too. The first thing I noticed was the super slim frame, they look a little fragile and are very flexible too, overall great pair of glasses!

I bought a pair of Gunnar glasses and it was an expensive mistake. You need to try a several computer glasses before you know what works, but unfortunately, the choices are limited. Basically, I have only seen Gunnar in local stores, so I bought a pair. I work in an office most of the time when I'm not seeing clients so I really wanted to protect my eyes. My vision was definitely worsening each day as I sat in front of the computer screen, however these glasses seemed to actually have made things even worse.

Basically, I'll summarize my experience like so:

- The lens are yellow. It seems to make sense at first (to block UV), but in practice, not really. The unnatural yellow color applied to everything I see actually made my eyes more strained.
- The lens are curved unnaturally. It completely distorts the shapes of objects you're looking at. More strain to the eyes.
- The lens are not clear. The plastic of the lens are a bit blurry which made things actually more difficult to see. Even more strain to my eyes.
- You can't wear these around at work when clients are around. They look totally unprofessional with that yellow tint and shape. You look like you're going to go rollerblading or something.
- I spent $70 on these. They probably should have been more like $20.

I didn't spend just 1 or 2 days trying to get used to the glasses. I tried on and off for a few months. I spent $70, so I wasn't going to give up and I really didn't want to look at a computer screen directly all day, but the more I tried, the worse my experience. The longer I wore the glasses each day, the worse my vision was getting and I started getting some major headaches at the end of the day.

However, I just took a gamble and bought some Jins PC glasses.
