I just got these glasses this morning and I've been using them for about five hours. I debated whether to give these four or five stars, in large part because I don't have anything to compare these against (other than my naked eye).

The first thing you will notice is the way they warm up the screen. I use a 24" LCD that has a fluorescent backlight (Samsung SyncMaster 245T 24" LCD Monitor) and the difference is best described as going from a fluorescent light to an incandescent.

The glasses have a yellow tint, but once I wore them for a few minutes and compared the glasses/no-glasses view, the no-glasses view felt cold and harsh.

Second, they are light. As a non-glasses-wearing type, I worried a bit about how they would feel, but they are fine.

Third, they fit snugly, but not tightly. This is a total bonus, since your face is probably different than mine.

Finally, a comment about the price. I paid $99 through Amazon. It felt a bit expensive, but I rationalized it as such: I stare at a computer about 12 hours a day during the week and about 5 hours a day during the weekend. This is about 3600 hours a year staring at a screen. If they last me a year, I will have paid 2.75 cents per hour of use.

For some reason this pair of glasses made my eyes very sore in a short amount of time, despite the general very positive reviews here. The lenses seem to have a magnifying effect. As soon as I put them on, I could feel that my eye muscles were forced to work hard and adjusting to the seemingly closer distance of the monitor. Within half of an hour, my eyes endured much more strain than without the glasses and I needed to take them off. I have 20/20 vision and didn't think that the glasses would be incompatible with me. Perhaps I need them to be custom-made for me.

These do seem to make eyes feel better after long sessions of computer screen watching. They magnify a little bit, which seems to reduce eye strain. Also, the tinted lenses reduce glare and make long sessions tolerable. I was skeptical, but I now believe they do work at least some to reduce eye strain. I use them primarily at work, but I did try them at home while playing a video game. In this setting, not only did it have the above benefits, but the glasses also appeared to prevent my eyes from drying out. I played Titanfall on a pc sitting a normal distance from the monitor for several hours and didn't have my eyes and contact lenses dry out. Normally this would have happened a few times. So overall, my feeling is that they provide a degree of improvement over not wearing anything. I really like using these glasses.

I've been using these glasses for a few days now. I work in IT and Design for a small firm in Chicago, and I am on a computer anywhere between 8 and 12 hours a day depending on my workload, and my availability to play some games when I get home. My eyes are always hurting me, but these actually did help... I was skeptical at first since its just some tinted glass, but surprisingly it does help with eye strain and my end of day head aches that come around 4:00 on the regular haven't returned since I started using these while working on the computer.

Glasses fit nicely, look decent (just like a nice pair of seeing glasses), and I've actually had some people in my office ask where I got them so they could get their own.

I would recommend these to anyone who is working on the computer all the time, or if you're a gamer it never hurts to protect yourself from the monitor you're sitting in front of until late hours of the night...

Also I will say, I play StarCraft 2 pretty frequently, and the colors in the game really do pop when you put these glasses on. When they say these give you more detail and better focus, they aren't making it up... You can see a major contrast difference after you wear them for a while and then try to go without them. Without the glasses everything seems a little more bleek.

I gave them 4/5 instead of 5/5 because i wish the plastic they used was a little heavier, but the lightness of the glasses could appeal to someone who doesn't like to feel like they are wearing glasses.

It was a good experience trying these Gunnar Optiks. When I use it for a long time, and take them off afterward, i feel relaxed and no more strain like I always get after working hours. However, sometimes it may cause slight headache at first, but in general I like it, it works and i will continue using it.

4 stars for the quality, it could be better.

These glasses are comfortable fit, light and well built. I'm surprised it even fit comfortably on my big head. Even the case it came with was sturdy and nice looking. The glasses gets some time to get use to, but once you eyes have adjusted i think they work great.

Ive known about the gunnar glasses for some time now as I am a nerd who stares at monitors and TV's with extreme frequency. Working in the Aerospace field I spend most of my days planted in front of a monitor for one reason or another and if I'm not at work I'm probably still staring at my phone or at my TV playing Xbox or surfing amazon to find what I want to buy next. After so long looking at a monitor my eyes start to feel strained and I sometimes get headaches as well....but not anymore.

I finally broke down and spent the 90 dollars on these gunnar glasses and boy am I glad I did. They are aluminum frames that feel strong and I'm not worried about these breaking any time soon. The amber lenses are designed to block out blues and that it does. If you wear these while using the computer and you take them off you will see the blues come at you in an almost blinding effect. They have a slight magnification, not much, but enough to make the computer screen look so much clearer and everything is crisper. All the colors do change slightly but it isn't a bothersome change unless you are a graphics designer and need accurate colors. I wear the glasses as long as I'm at work and take them off and lock them in my desk at the end of the day so I'm not going back and forth on and off every time I sit in front of a computer.

The glasses are light but strong and fit snugly on my face. My eyes feel less strained during the day and they look good as well. I was skeptical at first but now I'm happy I got them. If you think you need them and you have the money to spare then its worth it for what you get.
