GREAT workout for ABS!!!!!You won't be disappointed in the results!,
By Phoenixrising (New England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets Ab Assault (DVD)
I have numerous exercise tapes, but this is the only one I actually enjoy doing! I'm a pilates and "Firm" fan because they have worked for me, but I'm beginning to become a huge fan on using the Ball as part of my regimen. The reason I like this tape is because it's a no nonsense approach to TOUGH abdominal workout without the, "come on you can do it" chatter. I can see and feel the results. I should add that I do this tape after "The Firm Cardio Sculpt" because it's more of a workout that way. I've done just this tape, and not felt the fatigue(and PAIN) the way that I do when I combine the workouts. I plan on purchasing the rest of the series that Gunnar produces because I'm very impressed with this tape.

I had core secrets by Gunnar Peterson and found that this was a good followup DVD. It gives you a great workout and adds different dimensions so that your body gets good toning.

Exellent Beginning Ab Workout,
This review is from: Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets Ab Assault (DVD)
I love this workout as a Beginning Ab workout. It is slow paced and easy to stick to if you are a true beginner. But it is too easy if your not a beginner. I do agree with one review that said that it focuses too much on Brooke Burke it does and she just looks really wimpy during the workout. Eventually Gunnars's constant talking during the workout gets annoying because he makes it sound as if it is such a hard workout and it is really very easy. But like I said it is very good for beginners. It does work and fast as long as you do it every day. In the beginning, I tested doing it everyday versus every other day, I did not see any results if I stuck to every other day. I had to do it every day without fail 6-7 days per week to see results.

Core Secrets is the way forward!,

I'm from the UK and a friend of mine purchased Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets series when she was on holiday in Hawaii (they're not available here). We all started using them and soon it spread like wildfire... everyone was trying to borrow them or find out where they could get them from. I then ordered my own copies of Ab Assault and Bun Battle, my two favourites.
Being a little bit exercise-shy (I find it boring and who has the time?) I have never stuck to any regime for long, but I soon found myself doing these every day, and actually enjoying them! I think the secrets lie in the variety of moves, and in the length of the workout: using the swiss ball is actually fun, and because you only repeat each move several times and then quickly switch to another you can never get bored (not for me those "100 repetitions"!)... and at around 20 minutes most people can fit this easily into their day (not everyone has the time or money for a daily 2-hour gym session). Also, the variety means you work the muscles in lots of different ways for better results. It all sounds to good to be true, and you're probably thinking "But does it actually WORK?"... the answer is yes, absolutely. The results are quick and impressive... actually I think I may have overdone it at one point because I developed a bit of a six-pack! The girls on the DVD look good, but don't worry if you don't want to be as muscle-bound as some of them. I don't think you could ever bulk up that much with this DVD alone.... just expect a slimmer, more toned version of you.

I usually love Gunnar's DVDs. I own almost all of them and this one just doesn't add up to usual standards. I felt like the main focus of the DVD was Brooke Burke and not abs at all. The camera just kept zooming in on her face and abs. Gunnar also only chose maybe 4 moves and kept repeating them constantly. Yawn. Moving on to another ab DVD...

This was my first Gunnar Peterson DVD purchase, and I was very disappointed. The first thing I noticed was how terrible Gunnar's cueing was...he gave little to no instruction at all (especially on form and technique), so if you are completely new to working on the ball you may feel very intimidated and lost at times. The second annoyance was the fact that the exercises were not timed to the workout music. None of Gunnar's workout participants were doing the exercises at the same time because there were no solid verbal cues and no music count to work to. Lastly, the exercises were beginner level at best. I have been working my core for several years now, and I literally only fatigued on one set of exercises out of the entire 20 plus minutes. I had to change all of the exercises while performing this DVD just to make it worth my while. I wouldn't encourage anyone to purchase this DVD.
