I love this book! My Father had a copy when I was a kid that I read to pieces. It is full of short biographies on famous good guys and bad guys from the old west through the 1930's. Many photographs of the people and their weapons of choice. Good luck finding a copy, There is only one listed and it is all MINE!!

Originally published in the mid-1970's by Guns & Ammo Magazine, it's rich in photographs and more detailed commentary on the hardware used by both famous and often overlooked gunfighters of the Old West up into the 1930's. Well-written and deeply researched, the bios are necessarily short and more to get you interested in full-length biographies of those featured, which it does well. I think this certainly helped in the development of the modern Cowboy Action Shooting movement as well as the reintroduction of many 19th century guns beyond Civil War re-enacting, the original driver. Phil Spangenberger is a key figure in that movement and was a major (and always entertaining) writer on 19th century firearms topics in G&A, the #2 shooting magazine after the NRA's American Rifleman.
