4.0 out of 5 stars Great Mixtape by Cypress Hill Frontman
Just a heads up: Gunslinger Volume 1 was originally released as a mixtape to build up a buzz for B-Real's debut solo album, Smoke N Mirrors. So while this is an excellent album with plenty of great guest features, just keep in mind that the beats aren't original production by DJ Muggs or Audio Hustlaz.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you like B Real then you will like this.
I bought this album not knowing it was a mixtape(meaning he flows over other artists beats), but it is still pretty dope.

This CD was a long time coming for B-Real fans like myself, and he didn't disappoint. "Hold You Down" alone is worth the entire price of the album. B-Real flows over an incredibly sick Alchemist beat, with Sick Jacken of Psycho Realm and Mellow Man Ace riding shotgun on the track.

The album has an interesting mix of guest spots, from veteran artists to relative newcomers. Features include Son Doobie of Funkdoobiest, Eminem and Bizarre of D-12, Dominican rapper Minus P from New York's Washington Heights, and Philly group Subliminal Orphans. Standout tracks include "No Model" (over a hot Eminem beat), and "Warriors" with Hip Hop crooner Nate Dogg on the hook.

I only give the album four stars instead of five because B-Real was wisely saving his best work for his solo debut. But if you're a fan of Cypress Hill or Psycho Realm, no doubt about it, you need to buy this album today.
