Honest and Fun Music,
By
This review is from: Gunslinger (Audio CD)
I first heard Keni Thomas perform on a stage in Kirkuk, Iraq with the USO Christmas show. He performed songs from Gunslinger and Flags of our Fathers. I was in tears at one point (Not Me from Flags) and thoroughly enjoyed the upbeat tempo of Shreveport. I came home that night, and bought myself a Christmas present of both CDs. I haven't been disappointed.
As a deployed US servicemember, I could relate to Keni, and the honesty that I heard through his lyrics spoke to me. I look forward to his future efforts. It also means the world to me that some of the profits he makes from these CD benefits the family members of our fallen heroes.

If you like your country to be influenced by religion and experience, then you may well be served by checking out Keni Thomas. Keni, a former Special Ops soldier, co-wrote or produced most of the tracks on this CD, and like his previous effort, tells stories in his songs. He has a strong, clear voice, and he uses it effectively. That said, the CD insert could have benefited from a proofreader. The album is divided into "sides"; side one is is soft and easy to listen to; no hard rock or "poppy" country here. Side two is a little edgier, with "Out of Nowhere" being a standout track. Both sides show a sweetness and awareness that is lacking in most country music today.
Proceeds from the sale of the CD go to benefit Keni's favorite charity, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

Living the American dream, Keni Thomas has seen it all. Form his military career which put him in the fight of his life in Mogadishu, Somalia known to most by the movie "Black Hawk Down". Keni is a rising star and is ready to blow you away with his talent.
