I was so excited that this finally came out, I ordered it the day before the release date. The description on here was rather poor so I was unsure of what I was getting.I haven't watched it all yet, but I got through one episode. It's basically a no-frills collection. Just a standard DVD size case, filled with all 6 DVDs. No reversable cover I'm afraid, but the discs themselves look nice, and are easy to get out of the box. The DVDs seem to be identical to the other releases, this one just being consolidated. Both English and Japanese language tracks are here, with 2 English subtitle tracks, one that's full for watching it in Japanese, and one that's just "Signs and Songs" so lyrics and anything written will be shown. Quality isn't great, I wish that there was a Blu-Ray release. It doesn't seem as vibrant as it should be, but I have only watched it on my laptop. Both episode 6's are included, with the uncut as default and the cut, recap episode retained in the special features. Once again, no frills, but if you're like me and haven't bought any of the other DVD sets, this is the one you want. (Unless you want to wait it out for an HD release)

Good Show, Good Packaging, Poor Encoding,

As much as I love this show, the encoding on the DVDs could be a lot better. There are lots of artifacts and noise, not to mention the fact that it's interlaced. Besides that, the colors are wonderful, the menus are nice, and the actual packaging isn't bad at all; it's six discs in a standard-sized DVD case, so it's a little cramped, but it's well made. The physical DVDs also look nice.Overall, it isn't a bad buy if you're into the series. However, if you demand high quality, I'd cross your fingers and hope for a R1 Blu-Ray release with better encoding.

Sci-Fi Action,

If you like (or Love!!) anime, especially the action packed ones, then this the show for you!! This show's got a handful of everything from guns, girls, mechas, beastmen, and funny puns every now and again. It's worth the buy and keeps you at the edge of your seat, so this most definately won't bore. Gurren Lagann TV Series: Complete Collection Anime
