This review is from: Gus (Audio CD)
I saw this guy open for RatDog back in '96 and bought this disk the next day.It was stolen a year later but the songs have been stuck in my head for years. I just purchased it from amazon and cant wait to get it on my Ipod.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real, personal. Life put to a great new rock sound. Great!, December 2, 1998

I have seen Gus three times in concert! First as a warm up for OASIS in Seattle. The next were dates in small clubs in LA. The Viper Room and the Dragonfly. Gus is as real as it will get when it comes to putting out music that reflects the life of people searching for love and happiness. Gus`s personal stories are put to music and could touch most of us where it hurts. The music is all original takes of Seattle and LA sounds with an acoustic undertone throughout. The slower drifty cuts are powerful and captivating. The riffs throughout make sense and are put in at the right places. A great cd to take you into the soul of reflection. Having listened to his new unreleased material in concert, I can say Gus is here to stay and should become known to all once he puts out the new stuff. Acoustic, live and on his own is the way to connect with his intentions in his music. The Cd is the best way to keep his energy alive bettween live shows! BUY THIS CD. " Let You Drown" & "Guilty Crooked Fence" are haunting tunes! Why Gus is not on every radio station is beyond me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Distinct, Yet not overly wierd, May 19, 2004

This is a great album. His voice reminds me of the lead singer of Live (the band), except that his music is a touch mellower than that of Live. Really cool to just chill out to.

This album is totally awesome. Definitely one of my top 5. This guy is extremely talented. I bought the cd 2 years ago and I still can't stop listening to it. Simply buy it-there is no one dull track on it! Guilty crooked fence, big wheel and out of tune are my favourites. NOW JUST ADD THIS TO YOUR LIST!
