5.0 out of 5 stars A highlight of german rock music, April 15, 2001
By
This review is from: Gute Unterhaltung (Audio CD)
If you look at Heinz Rudolf Kunze's career you will never find two albums that sound the same. And that's with 21 albums in as much years. In the second half of the 80s, Kunze made his commercial breakthrough, changing from the pondering songwriter to one of the most popular singers of german pop music. "Gute Unterhaltung", released 1989 marked the end of this period with becoming one of his best three albums overall. The contents of his songs are as different as ever, singing about an acrobat who dies in the ring, a father-in-spe who is caught between joy and desperation, some mere supporter of extrem political views and finally, about the arrogance of white-coloured people. "Götter in weiss", gods in white, is not about doctors but about the unbelievable self-satisfied actions of the europeans and north americans, who thought they could do anything with the people of other colours. "Beyond the love you feel the desire to love precisely the ones you break."
