A Must for Reluctant Readers,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gutsy Girls: Young Women Who Dare (Paperback)
Though I have not read this book in its entirety, I need to recommend it. I have a student who has been reluctant to read all year-- until I got her this book. She simply could not put it down. She loves the stories, and I love the easy writing style. This book has put her on her way to becoming a reader!

Awesome!,
By Kristy Howard "Student" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Gutsy Girls: Young Women Who Dare (Paperback)
Chock full of real life girls who dared to do something different. From the rock-climber to the athlete, this inspiring book will provide good examples for any teen. As such, Tina Schwager's book portrays real life teens. But for fun, you can also get inspired by reading about fictional heroines like Buffy or Queen B Superheroine. The more examples of strong, confident young heroines out there for tween and teen girls to read about, the better.

I thought this was a pretty good book. The stories of the 25 young women were fun to read, and that inspirational ending was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this book to young ladies who are feeling bad about themselves or lost in life. Some of the stories were really cool, and makes me think of what I could do in my life. But overall this was a good book.

It's all about Crystal Pakizer and horse vaulting!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gutsy Girls: Young Women Who Dare (Paperback)
This book highlights many wonderful girls but none are more impressive that Crystal Pakizer, the young horse gymnast. She recently competed at the Natioanl Chapionships with a recently broken toe and took National Pas De Duex Championship and Reserve Silver Championship. That is what I call a Gutsy Girl!

Guts,

This review is from: Gutsy Girls: Young Women Who Dare (School & Library Binding)
In this book, Gutsy Girls, you will find that the girls have a lot of guts. I recommend this book to girls who love sports because it is about sports. One of the parts I liked was Beth Rodden's story. She was a rock climber and she said that rock climbing doesn't only include physical strength it also requires mental strength.
