3.0 out of 5 stars New Jack Part II
After the split with Gene Griffin, contractual disagreements, Guy steeped back upto the Plate in 1991, with their sophmore effort. In an attempt to present a more rounded sound,Leon Slyvers III was recruited to provide a stronger song structure, with better lyrical appeal.
This is a more mature album than their self named debut, and will appeal to not only New Jack...

4.0 out of 5 stars Memories, March 7, 2000
This review is from: Guy the Future (Audio CD)
This album is very nice. It brings back memories of Jr. High Dances, since "Let's Chill" was the tightest song out at the time. Some other notable cuts include "Let's Stay Together",D-O-G Me Out, and "yearning For Your Love". I definitely recommend this.

This is a more mature album than their self named debut, and will appeal to not only New Jack swingers out there. Evidence of this can be found in songs like:Smile,Let's Chill. Saying this I must confess that I prefer the up tempo tunes. Teddys Jam 2( where teddy goes wild on the keyboard) Wanna get with you,(I prefer the funkier extented Club)D-O-G- me out( agin I prefer the remix)
on the whole this is a great, more complete follow up.

5.0 out of 5 stars What was new, now old, February 16, 2005

I bought this when it was originally released (I was 13) - on cassette. It was great at the time when it was new school, and is still great now that it is old school. Aaron Hall's vocals are so rich. The beat is non-stop and just puts you in a feel good mood all around. This is a great purchase. Just buy the thing.

This cd is great with rumpshaking songs like Do me Right, I wanna get wit U, Teddy's Jam 2 and of course Her which was their greatest hit ever in Europe. Aaron Hall shines in the ballads and Let's Chill is in my opinion 1 of the best ballads ever.

The 2 more raporiented songs are nice but are a little out of place. Let's just say Teddy and co. needed to get something off their chests.

When this cd was out New jack Swing was at it's top. Only problem was that after this material Teddy's New Jack juices stopped flowing. The material hereafter is definitely less than this cd and Guy's last offering Guy III broke my heart ...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Smashing Success!!!, May 14, 2003

All you gotta do is listen to the album and you'll understand why I gave it 5 stars, WISHING I could give it 10!!!

I'd heard jam hits "Wanna Get With You" and "D-O-G Me Out," as well as ballads, "Tease Me Tonite" and "Let's Chill," but the FIRST time I listened to "Long Gone" on cassette tape (way back when :)), I couldn't WAIT to buy the CD.

It's indescribable how this song moves me, not to mention the tremendous vocal talents of Teddy Riley and Aaron Hall. They both sing with such passion, you can't help but not only think of those dear to you who've passed, but also of a certain better place to be than the world as we presently know it.

This album has everything and it's most definitely a timeless keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars And they still grooovin' on!, May 10, 2000

I give Guy a five because they are so intense, compromise, and very, very, fine group of mens! I really like Aaron Hall the (Nasty Man. He's in a class of himself, but I'm not knocking off Damion and Teddy they also very entergetic people! The first album of Guy is still today the best in my book! The first time I heard "Piece Of My Love" it really touch me until this day! It brought tears out of my eyes. I'm about to close this very, very, special review in. Keep on groovin and jamming okay!

Sincerely, Karoline P.S. Aaron Hall I really would like to have your address to write you A.S.A.P.!
