I've had this CD for a while...it keeps getting better and better. I finally had a chance to see the band live recently and I was blown away. I just purchased a new copy of the CD to get the live MP3 tracks and video that are included. I couldn't believe my eyes (and ears). If you like to groove, if you like to move, you can't go wrong with this one. It's like MMW, Groove Collective, Phish, all rolled into one, but maybe better

The Guy Smiley Blues Exchange first impressed me when they sent a 2 song demo to the club I ran in Knoxville. Normally I would put such a demo on a shelf, but with these guys,I couldn't WAIT to call their booking agent. The GSBE combines the funky beat of the 70's with a horn section as talented as the Tower of Power. From the first hit of The Unexplained to the last note of Get Down Tonight, their combined talents and fun loving attitude toward their music shine bright throughout this album. Although the album isn't as much an old-school blues album as the name might suggest, even Charlie Musselwhite would have been proud of their jazzy funk style. Buy the album. Jam on the music. Book the band and SEE THEM LIVE!! There will be no disappointment, and that's a personal guarantee! The beat is back folks, and these guys are the leaders of funk for the next generation.

These guys are the BOMB.... don't miss out on this thick groove from way out. Makes you shake yo' booty and expand your mind in the process..... seven intelligent masters of their instruments with a love of the music and a desire to do nothing other than have a blast and make sure you do all the while. Live shows are a must see.
