Play & Learn concentrates on key areas of development through age appropriate activities which enhance motor skills, problem solving, coordination, language skills and encourage individual creativity and imagination. 1001 activities for children from birth to age five provides ideas for parents to connect with their children at every stage, helps build a strong sense of self and fosters a positive attitude towards learning.

The first thing I noticed was the sturdy cover, the colorful tab-style layout, with the age clearly marked on the center tab, which makes finding the exact section you're looking for a breeze. The book is filled with gorgeous pictures of children at every stage, brilliant art work and lots and lots of color. At the beginning of each age change (0+, 3mo+, 6mo+, etc.) the authors have written an introduction page that includes a set of four milestones, displayed in color-coded boxes, giving parents a heads-up on what to expect as your little one reaches important and life-changing milestones.

Some of the activities include, recording your child's favorite book on tape, making and decorating gingerbread cookies to enjoy while reading the story, playing footsie and the time tested trick to stop restaurant melt-downs, Mr. Fork and Ms. Spoon. The book is jam-packed with simple but ingenious ideas that help parents amuse and entertain even the fussiest child. With no preparation needed, using everyday household items, or sometimes just the sound of your own voice, these activities will enrich your relationship with your children and provide years of priceless memories.

This is an excellent tool for parents and caregivers, that I highly recommend. Loaded with fun activities that make life a little bit easier for tired parents and lots of fun for curious, energetic little ones.

When you are a new parent pressed for time and tired, this book is great! You can pick it up, flip to a page in the appropriate age section, read one paragraph (in large print), and be ready to interact with your child. There are no diagrams, big words, or windy theories to read. It is about taking every opportunity to simply play.

We picked up Gymboree Play and Learn: 1001 Fun Activities For Your Baby and Child (Gymboree Play & Music) at Target when our baby was only a few months old. At the time, we were both working and only had limited time to play with our son. Neither of us had really been around babies before and had no idea how to interact with a baby. This book really clued us in and helped us to make our time together memorable.

I enjoy this book because sometimes with my baby (who is now 8 months old) I'm at a loss of things to do with her. It's nice to have a book that has a ton of suggestions. With any book that has such a large number of ideas, you take some and you leave some. I just like this book because it's a quick reference book and it utilizes things we have in our home. I'll be giving it as a gift to my new parents friends in the future.

This is an excellent resource for new and experienced moms. Who doesn't need a new play idea once in a while or a reminder about something you've heard before? Because the ideas range from birth to five years it will be useful for years. I'm planning on ordering several for gifts.

Jam packed with great ideas to play with our daughter. Activities are organized by age, so it's easy to find appropriate games. Some ideas are simple (watch the wind blow the leaves in the trees) and others are more creative, but all-in-all, a very useful book. Especially helpful for the new parent who does not have tons of baby experience.

I liked this book because a lot of the suggestions are really good and easy to do. I didn't give this book five stars because some of the suggestions are just so obvious and there were quite a few recommendations in sections that were a few months ahead of where they should have been.

My husband and I really love this book. We are first time parents to a 4 month old little girl and we have been using this book since she was only a few weeks old. It is especially great for my husband who doesn't have the natural instinct to entertain a baby, haha. There are some great ideas in the book! I would definitely recommend this book to all First Time Parents!

I love this book. I got it a Ross for only $5 and couldn't be happier. In months we have so many of the ideas the book offer. I highly recommend it to both parents and caregivers
