5.0 out of 5 stars The Rody is well worth the higher price
Bought 2 of these for my kids. The smaller standard Rody and the Rody Max. They are extremely durable. I sat on and even bounced on the Rody Max (lol) and at 250 lbs it held up no problem. They rate the standard Rody at 250 lb maxiumum weight and the Rody Max at a whopping 400lbs maximum weight. All in all these things are great and my kids really enjoy playing with them...

3.0 out of 5 stars Butt spots
I love my rody but it has spots on the butt indicating that it was in the warehouse long enough for the heat to cause bubbling on it's bottom. Also GET THE PUMP

The best part is that me (the dad) doesn't have to worry about patching these things up every couple of days. Made in Italy, hey great sports cars and tough toys.

I got the Rody Max for my three year old, because she is tall. It's perfect! She bounces right off the back of her little sister's regular Rody horse. It's worth spending the money on, she uses it inside and outside. It's great for getting energy out inside on a rainy day. :)

Ok so imagine a huge pilates ball in the shape of a horse. That its what this is. So because of that I think it shoud be way cheaper. $50.00 would be a much reasonable price. I got mine cheaper than the current price just 3 weeks ago who knows why.
Anyways, I got mine for an almost 3yr old. She is tall so I knew the little one was not going to do it. She loved it. We didnt put as much air on it because we wanted to keep it smaller for her. She bounces a lot on it. She watch TV on it and bounce all day. Wich is so nice because its cold outside.
I think this toy is more like for a 2 in a half and older child because you need to have some serious motor skills to manipulate the horse; the little one its kind of pointless. A lot of my friend who got the regular size told me the kids didnt play with it until way later and then they were too big for it. So this is the perfect size.
My almost 3yr old fitted on it just fine and I can see her playing with it for a long long time. Right now she likes to pretend she is a cowgirl.
BTW , she and I fit on it. Yeap its large enought for both of us, my husbad also tried it and he liked it, but we need a taller one for us LOL
I wish they had more fun color in the maxy, I really wanted a purple one but the orange is cute enought for a boy or a girl.

Santa brought 2 of these for my boys. Onis just turned 11 & the other just turned 4. There was no doubt that I would get the Max size for my older son, but my 4yo was questionable. Max vs the regular size Rody?

Well, both boys(and us adults too!) love the Rodys. They are very durable & bouncy, easy to use & lots of fun. We have chased each other around the house on them & even ridden double riders(1 kid, 1 adult) per Rody with no issues. Our boys really seem to enjoy them while watching tv or playing video games the most though. Kids are wiggly worms anyways, and Rody just allows them to be bouncy kids. I was concerned at just how much they would get used vs the money the bigger ones cost(double) and the space they take up. My mind has been put at ease with their enthusiasm today. They even took them to their bedrooms tonight, much to the dismay of mommy & daddy who were looking forward to sitting on them while playing GranTurismo5 after the kiddies went to bed.

No "deers"(as my 4yo calls them!) for us tonight:( Sadness!

Back to the issue of size. My 11yo is about my size, 5ft tall & 100lbs. No worries for fit. Dad weighs 200lbs & is 6ft. Sitting on Rody is fine, hopping is a little awkward as his knees bend so far on the downward bounce that he tends to hop backwards(which is quite hysterical actually to my 4yo who thinks daddy can't ride a deer correctly!). My 4yo is typical height & weight for his age(just turned 4 3 weeks ago). At full inflation, RodyMax is too wide for him to hop forward on him, his legs just can't get enough bend in them to push off in a forward motion. But rocking & bouncing up & down on RodyMax is no problem. When we got back from our Christmas festivities with family, I deflated Rody a bit to make him less wide(but also less "reboundy" by being softer). My son did just fine after that. It gave him enough extra leg movement that he can now hop forward & chase people. Problem solved!

In conclusion, if your child is nearing the end of the recommended age for the regular Rody(5 & under), with some slight modification, the Max version can fit until they grow a bit bigger. For the money, I'd rather have my kid grow into & not out of Rody.

My sons both said their Rody was their favorite gift they recieved today. Time will tell if that holds to be true, but from what I have seen today, I felt like it was money well spent.

We've had our Rody Max for about a year now, and are still in love with him! He's stayed inflated, despite all the kids in my house and neighboring houses taking him for a ride around the house. Ok, I admit it, even I have taken him for a few rides. He's excellent for a bun and thigh workout. LOL. My kids have autism and we had the Wahoo brand horses for them when they were smaller, and although weight wise they still fit the wahoo horses, height wise they've really outgrown them, so we ordered one rody max to see and I will definately be ordering more when tax season hits. They are perfect for kids who love to move wheither they are rambunctious, have ADHD, or Autism. And the thing is they don't get tired of rody. The kids have races with the horses and each time somebody new comes over, they want to show their rody off. If you're debating, I say go for it! It's made from really sturdy thick rubber, so no problems with my kids popping it, and with the weight limit, it doesn't matter if they all decide to dog pile it either. It's well worth the money. I do wish it was a little cheaper since I need to purchase more, but it is really worth it.

this is the second one I have bought for my great niece in Washington State who is disability challenged. She loves it! I always check with her Mom and/or her Dad (my nephew) before purchasing anything for my great-niece, because I want her to get something from "Auntie Marilyn" that she can use to develop her strengths and her coordination! Julie Grace is very special to me and always will be! M. Nastari from RI

My 4 year old got this from Santa, he didnt ask for it, but it is by far his favorite gift! It is very large, my husband or myself can fit on it with my 4 yr old on the back and we can hop around the house. That being said it is the perfect size for my son to use alone also (he is of average size), he had used the smaller version at an indoor play area and that one was nearly too small!
It is great for cold winter days to get some energy out, believe me, it is exhausting, LOL.

For a 7 year old girl at Christmas - she was completely surprised! Her older brothers love it - I love it! It is a great work out, fun, easy to get on and off, and has become an extra chair at times for the kinetic learners in the house. Wish we all could have one!

My daughter got her first Rody at age 2. She is now 5 and it's time for a bigger Rody. She absolutely LOVES Rody. It calms her down if she gets overwhelmed and overall just a great toy.

I bought two of the Rody Max for my children. The quality of the product is worth the money. The kids love them and use them non-stop. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a great product. The Rody Max states that it an hold up to 400lbs. I weigh 200lbs and hopped on them with no issue and they felt as if they could hold alot more.
