Book Description

McGraw-Hill Sourcebooks May 28, 2003

A wholesale revision of the complete, all-in-one sourcebook of information on gynecological health issues. Special consideration is given to such concerns as fibroids, hysterectomy, gynecological cancers, STDs, and prevention. Pregnancy and infertility are covered only lightly since there is wealth of books devoted to those subjects alone.

The Gynecological Sourcebook has a proven, steady track record on the health shelf. The new, fourth edition will contain much more information on the most popular and most reliable types of alternative medicine used for women’s health as well as completely updated information on western approaches. Its new, more competitive price and more up-to-date approach to treatments will help the book appeal to an even wider audience than in the past.

Editorial Reviews

Review

The Gynecological Sourcebook is a superb and comprehensive reference guide that gives women a comprehensive view of what makes their bodies work, and helps them make sure they are getting the best care possible. The Gynecological Sourcebook contains everything any woman needs to know about PMS; endometriosis, fibroids, safe sex, STDs, PID, AIDS, contraception (including the Pill, the female condom, and Norplant); vaginal and urinary tract infections, the Pap test, gynecological cancers, hysterectomies (and alternatives); hormone replacement therapy; and menopause. Sara Rosenthal's The Gynecological Sourcebook is an essential component of any health care reference shelf. -- Midwest Book Review --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars PMS is not a disease or a syndrome, October 17, 2003
By
Lisa Smit (Winnnipeg. MB) - See all my reviews
M. Sara Rosenthal is the first author that I have read, female at that, to let woman know that PMS is not a disease or even a syndrome. She lets her readers know that certain symptoms are signs of changing hormones within the menstral cycle and she tells us how we can coast through these changes without losing our minds. I have read a lot of women's health books and this is the best one I've come across so far! Thank you to her!

This review is from: The Gynecological Sourcebook (McGraw-Hill Sourcebooks) (Paperback)
Item came timely in good shape and great price. Includes everything you'd want to know about the female reproductive system. I use it for reference and have had all my questions answered, cuts time in the doctor's office. My mother-in-law and mom both call me to ask questions, too.
